Listed as non-participant on Week 17 report
The Giants listed Tracy (ankle) as a non-participant on Wednesday's estimated practice report, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
Analysis: On Monday, coach Brian Daboll told Salomone that Tracy aggravated an ankle injury this past Sunday in Atlanta, a game in which the running back logged a typical 63 percent snap share and turned 11 touches into 69 yards from scrimmage and one receiving touchdown. In lieu of practicing on Christmas Day, the Giants opted to hold an unofficial session Tuesday in which Tracy ended up sitting out, prompting the team to list him as a non-participant when the first Week 17 injury report was published a…read more

Unable to practice Tuesday
Head coach Brian Daboll said that Tracy (ankle) didn't participate in Tuesday's informal practice, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
Analysis: The Giants won't release their initial Week 17 injury report until Wednesday, but the team opted to hold its first practice of the week Tuesday rather than holding a session on Christmas Day. As such, Tracy is expected to be listed as a non-participant on the first injury report of the week, which isn't especially surprising after Daboll revealed that the running back aggravated an ankle injury in Sunday's 34-7 loss to the Falcons. The Giants will see what Tracy is able to do on the field at…read more

Aggravates ankle injury
Giants head coach Brian Daboll said Monday that Tracy aggravated an ankle injury during Sunday's 34-7 loss to the Falcons, Matt Citak of the Giants' official site reports.
Analysis: Tracy gained 26 yards on only seven carries versus Atlanta on Sunday, but he salvaged his day from a fantasy perspective by securing all four of his targets for 43 yards and a touchdown. He entered the contest with a questionable designation due to an ankle issue and evidently aggravated the injury during the blowout loss. If Tracy winds up sitting out a Week 17 contest against the Colts for a Giants squad that is playing for nothing but pride and draft position, Devin Singletary would step…read more

Catches short TD in loss
Tracy carried the ball seven times for 26 yards and caught all four of his targets for 43 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 34-7 loss to the Falcons.
Analysis: He couldn't get much going on the ground, but Tracy was on the other end of Drew Lock's first TD pass of the season, a two-yard toss early in the second quarter that saw the rookie RB make a leaping catch at the back of the end zone and get both feet down in bounds. Lock was otherwise a disaster, throwing two pick-sixes among his three giveaways, and the Giants' offense couldn't get anything else going. Tracy remains firmly atop the backfield depth chart for New York heading into a Week 17…read more

Suiting up in Week 16
Tracy (ankle) is active for Sunday's game at Atlanta, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
Analysis: Tracy entered the weekend as questionable following three limited practices due to an ankle injury, but Adam Schefter of ESPN reported late Saturday that the fifth-round rookie was expected to suit up Sunday. With Tracy's status confirmed for Week 16, he'll continue to pace the Giants backfield, which has amounted to 16.5 touches for 84.5 yards from scrimmage per game and five rushing TDs over the last 10 contests.

Expected to go Sunday
Tracy (ankle) remains listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Falcons but is expected to play, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Analysis: Tracy logged three limited practice sessions Wednesday through Friday before carrying a designation into the weekend. Despite the lack of full activity this week, Tracy looks like he'll be formally cleared to play when the Giants release their inactive list 90 minutes prior to Sunday's 1 p.m. ET kickoff. Tracy has compiled 151 carries and 30 catches for 915 total yards this season, and he's been the Giants' clear lead back since Week 5. If Tracy is active but still limited in some capacity,…read more

Status in question for Sunday
Tracy (ankle) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game at Atlanta, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
Analysis: Tracy was a limited practice participant Wednesday and Thursday due to an ankle injury, which is clouding his status for Week 16 action. The Giants kick off at 1:00 p.m. ET on Sunday, so his availability, or lack thereof, will be known before the early slate of games. Devin Singletary would be poised to lead New York's backfield if Tracy is inactive, with Eric Gray also available for any RB reps that linger.

Limited again Thursday
Tracy (ankle) practiced in a limited capacity Thursday, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
Analysis: Tracy has kicked off Week 16 prep with back-to-back capped sessions due to an ankle issue, giving him only more chance to log a full practice in advance of the weekend. Friday's injury report will reveal whether or not he's given a designation for Sunday's game at Atlanta. Since the Giants' Week 11 bye, Tracy has averaged 14.0 touches for 63.3 yards from scrimmage per game while scoring two rushing TDs over the last four contests.

Dealing with ankle issue
Tracy was a limited participant at Wednesday's practice due to an ankle injury, Patricia Traina of SI.com reports.
Analysis: Tracy dealt with a right low-ankle sprain in August, but the health concern didn't affect his status for Week 1 and beyond. Since he regularly started earning a 60 percent snap share beginning Week 5 at Seattle, he's averaged 16.6 touches for 84.5 yards from scrimmage per game while scoring five rushing touchdowns over the last 10 contests. Tracy's status will be watched as the week continues to get a sense of his availability for Sunday's road matchup with the Falcons.

Modest production in loss
Tracy carried 10 times for 31 yards and brought in one of four targets for four yards in the Giants' 35-14 loss to the Ravens on Sunday.
Analysis: Tracy predictably saw only a modest amount of opportunity in a game that eventually got away from the Giants as expected. The rookie running back now has four straight sub-50-yard totals on the ground, and his receiving production Sunday was his lowest since Week 10. Tracy should have a good chance of bouncing back in a favorable Week 16 road matchup against the Falcons, although it bears noting he outpaced backfield mate Devin Singletary by only two carries Sunday.

Gets into end zone in loss
Tracy carried the ball 16 times for 45 yards and a touchdown and caught five of 10 targets for 38 yards in Sunday's 14-11 loss to the Saints.
Analysis: The rookie running back punched in a one-yard score late in the fourth quarter, giving Tracy his fifth rushing TD in the last eight games. Over that stretch, he's amassed 680 scrimmage yards while solidifying his spot at the top of the Giants' backfield depth chart. Tracy faces a tough matchup on the ground in Week 15 against the Ravens.

Compiles 65 total yards in loss
Tracy rushed nine times for 32 yards and a touchdown and secured two of three targets for 33 yards in the Giants' 27-20 loss to the Cowboys on Thursday.
Analysis: Tracy ceded the start to veteran backfield mate Devin Singletary, who logged carries on the Giants' first two plays from scrimmage. However, the rookie got in on the act with a seven-yard run on the fourth play and eventually capped off that opening drive with a one-yard touchdown run. The fifth-round pick did see his overall opportunities stagnate for the second straight game, however, with Tracy recording his second consecutive nine-carry total and outpacing Singletary by just two touches in…read more

Solid with limited opportunities
Tracy rushed nine times for 42 yards and brought in all four targets for 28 yards in the Giants' 30-7 loss to the Buccaneers on Sunday. He also lost a fumble.
Analysis: Game script limited Tracy's opportunities on the ground significantly, but he was still able to average an impressive 4.7 yards per carry while also recording his second-highest catch and receiving yardage totals of the season. On a less promising note, the rookie running back lost a fumble for the second straight game -- and this one came with New York just five yards away from the Buccaneers' end zone. Loses crucial fumble
Tracy rushed the ball 18 times for 103 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 20-17 overtime loss to the Panthers. He added one reception on two targets for one yard.
Analysis: Tracy maintained his lead in the Giants' backfield and recorded his third 100-yard rushing game of the season. The performance was highlighted by an impressive 32-yard touchdown scamper, during which Tracy cut back and streaked through a hole in the middle of the field to reach the end zone for the third time in the campaign. Unfortunately for him, his production was overshadowed by a lost fumble early in overtime that set up the game-winning field goal for Carolina. Despite the temporary…read more

Gets 17 touches in Week 9 loss
Tracy (concussion) rushed 16 times for 66 yards and caught his only target for three yards in Sunday's 27-22 loss to the Commanders.
Analysis: Tracy didn't have any limitations after clearing concussion protocol Friday, as the rookie running back's 16 rushing attempts marked the fourth-highest total of his young career. He worked as the clear lead back over Devin Singletary, who rushed seven times for 33 yards. Tracy has a juicy Week 10 matchup coming up against the Panthers in Munich, Germany.

Clears concussion protocol
Tracy cleared concussion protocol Friday and doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Commanders, per Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site.
Analysis: It's one of the faster recoveries we've seen from a concussion, with Tracy passing through the entire protocol just four days after entering it during the fourth quarter of Monday's 26-18 loss to the Steelers. He took 21 touches for 150 yards and a touchdown prior to his early exit, working as the Giants' lead back for a fourth straight week, including two games in a row that Devin Singletary also played.

Progressing through protocol
Giants head coach Brian Daboll said that Tracy (concussion) will be a limited participant in Thursday's practice, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Tracy will don a red no-contact jersey during the session, but the running back appears to have advanced to the fourth phase of the five-step concussion protocol after not practicing in any fashion Wednesday, two days after he suffered a concussion late in Monday's loss to the Steelers. In order to make himself available for Sunday's game against the Commanders, Tracy will still need to be cleared for contact in addition to receiving clearance from an independent neurologist, but Daboll…read more

Tracy (concussion) is listed as a non-participant in Wednesday's practice, Ralph Vacchiano of Fox Sports reports.
Analysis: Tracy was spotted working off to the side with the training staff during the media-access portion of practice, which at least hints at some progress through concussion protocol just two days after suffering the injury. He nonetheless faces an uphill battle to be ready for Sunday's game against Washington, just six days after being concussed late in the fourth quarter of Monday's loss to Pittsburgh. Analysis: Giants head coach Brian Daboll said Wednesday that Tracy is in the "early stages" of the NFL's concussion protocol, according to Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com. The rookie fifth-round pick could have a chance to gain clearance in time for Sunday's game against Washington, but in order to put himself on track for a tentative Week 9 return, Tracy will likely need to at least take part in non-contact practice activity Thursday. Concussion confirmed
Giants head coach Brian Daboll said Tuesday that Tracy has entered the concussion protocol following Monday's 26-18 loss to the Steelers, Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News reports.
Analysis: Tracy exited the contest with just over four minutes left in the fourth quarter after he appeared to slam his head on the turf. The rookie didn't return for the Giants' final possession, and Daboll has confirmed that Tracy sustained a concussion on the play. Exits to locker room
Tracy exited Monday's matchup with the Steelers late in the fourth quarter after suffering an apparent head injury, Art Stapleton of The Bergen Record reports.
Analysis: Tracy likely went to the medical tent to be checked for a concussion after hitting his helmet on the field. He subsequently left for the locker room. The injury comes on a big night in which he assumed RB1 duties for the Giants ahead of Devin Singletary. Tracy accumulated 145 rushing yards and one touchdown on 20 carries before exiting. He also injured his shoulder at the end of the first half but ultimately returned to start the third quarter.

Returns Monday
Tracy (shoulder) returned to start the second half in Monday's matchup with the Steelers, Art Stapleton of The Bergen Record reports.
Analysis: Tracy was shaken up towards the end of the first half and subsequently drew a questionable designation at halftime. However, he has gotten the green light to start the third quarter. The running back had seemingly take RB1 duties from Devin Singletary in the first half, recording nine carries to Singletary's one.

Questionable to return
Tracy is considered questionable to return to Monday's matchup with the Steelers due to a shoulder injury, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
Analysis: Tracy had nine carries for 35 yards compared to Devin Singletary's one rush for seven yards prior to exiting. However, Tracy was shaken up late in the first half. Singletary would presumably take on RB1 responsibilities should Tracy be unable to return.

Tough sledding in Sunday's loss
Tracy carried the ball six times for 23 yards and caught all three of his targets for nine yards in Sunday's 28-3 loss to the Eagles.
Analysis: The Giants' run game went nowhere, but Tracy still led the team in rushing yards, with Devin Singletary (six touches for 21 total yards) being even less productive in his return from a groin strain. It's impossible to draw any conclusions on the New York backfield situation given the nature of Sunday's rout, but at the very least Tracy appears to still be in line for a timeshare role. However, the rookie may not find much more room to run in Week 8 against a tough Steelers defense.

Set to share with Singletary
Coach Brian Daboll said Friday that Tracy will "get plenty of playing time" even though Devin Singletary (groin) is returning for Sunday's game against Philadelphia, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Tracy topped 100 total yards in back-to-back games in Singletary's absence, taking 35 carries for 179 yards (5.1 YPC) and a touchdown while catching seven of eight targets for 59 yards. Singletary doesn't have a Week 7 injury designation, but both he and Tracy make for risky fantasy plays given the possibility of a fairly even workload split. Takes advantage of start on SNF
Tracy rushed 17 times for 50 yards and a touchdown while bringing in all six of his targets for 57 receiving yards in Sunday's 17-7 loss to the Bengals.
Analysis: Tracy got to fill in as New York's top running back for the second consecutive week after Devin Singletary (groin) was ruled out just over 24 hours prior to Sunday night's kickoff. The 24-year-old Tracy was up to the task against Cincinnati, breaking the century mark in total yardage while scoring the first touchdown of his career. Primed for massive opportunity
Tracy is expected to see the lion's share of the snaps out of the backfield Sunday against the Bengals with Devin Singletary (groin) ruled out for Week 6.
Analysis: The 2024 fifth-round pick has another big opportunity ahead of him after he shined in his first extended NFL action in the Giants' Week 5 win over the Seahawks. Though Eric Gray seemed to operate as the team's preferred option early in the Week 5 contest, his fumble on the opening drive opened the door for Tracy, who blasted through to the tune of 7.2 yards per carry on just 12 attempts. Steps up with 129 rushing yards
Tracy rushed 18 times for 129 yards and caught one of two targets for one yard in Sunday's 29-20 win over the Seahawks.
Analysis: Tracy ceded some early touches to Eric Gray, but after Gray had a disastrous fumble at the goal line on the opening drive, Tracy took over as the main man in a Giants backfield that was without Devin Singletary (groin). This was a surprisingly effective effort on the ground from Tracy considering the rookie fifth-round draft pick came into the game with only 29 yards on 12 rushing attempts (2.4 YPC) before galloping for 7.2 YPC in the Week 5 win. Set for No. 1 role Sunday
Tracy is set to operate as the Giants' lead back in Sunday's Week 5 matchup against the Seahawks with Devin Singletary (groin) inactive for the contest, per Dan Salomone of the team's official site.
Analysis: Tracy has been building up to his No. 1 role by taking first-team reps throughout the week, and the rookie fifth-round pick will now have a chance to log his most extensive workload as a pro yet. The matchup against a Seahawks defense that's allowed just 82.0 rushing yards per contest through its first two home games is daunting on paper; however, Tracy could make for a viable deeper-league and DFS tournament option based on the volume he should see with only second-year back Eric Gray and…read more

Likely lead back against Seahawks
Tracy is in line to lead the Giants' backfield Sunday against the Seahawks, as Devin Singletary (groin) is listed as doubtful, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: If Singletary doesn't play, Eric Gray would likely mix in as well, but Tracy has 18 combined carries and targets through four games compared to Gray's five. Tracy has averaged just 2.4 yards per carry in his young career, but the rookie fifth-round pick out of Purdue could be an intriguing PPR dart throw, as he's a converted wide receiver who can contribute as a pass catcher out of the backfield as well as on the ground.

Limited production in Week 4
Tracy rushed four times for two yards and secured one catch for 19 yards in Thursday's 20-15 loss to the Cowboys.
Analysis: Tracy saw his usage decrease slightly in Week 4, playing 15 offensive snaps against Dallas. The rookie made his most significant play in the third quarter, turning a short pass into a 19-yard reception. Tracy remains firmly behind Devin Singletary in New York's backfield, though he has distanced himself from Eric Gray to operate as the team's clear No. 2 option at running back.

Sees uptick in touches Week 3
Tracy rushed five times for 23 yards and added two catches (on two targets) for 17 yards in Sunday's 21-15 win against Cleveland.
Analysis: Tracy's performance was highlighted by a 12-yard catch-and-run in the first quarter that helped set up New York's first touchdown. Overall, the rookie running back logged his most touches (seven) and highest total yardage (40) through three games this season. Veteran Devin Singletary posted a 16-65-1 line on the ground and a 4-43-0 line through the air Sunday and remains the Giants' lead back, but Tracy appears to be distancing himself from second-year RB Eric Gray for the backup role. Gets just one touch Week 2
Tracy rushed once for two yards and didn't receive any targets in Sunday's loss to Washington. He added one kick return for 28 yards.
Analysis: Tracy's lone touch on offense came in the second quarter, when he notched a two-yard rush on a second-down play. While he did contribute in the return game, second-year back Eric Gray made more of an impact in that regard, returning five kickoffs for 128 yards. Analysis: Devin Singletary led New York's backfield with 50 offensive snaps (70 percent of the team's total) in the loss, while Tracy logged 15 offensive snaps and Eric Gray tallied seven. Gray was slightly more effective than Tracy with six yards on two carries and nine yards on one reception, but there isn't much to glean from the pair's production given their limited touches. Analysis: Tracy suffered a right low-ankle sprain at Tuesday's practice, so it's encouraging to see him already getting some work in on the side field. Initially, due to the fact that he was carted off the field and taken to a hospital for examination, it was feared that Tracy had suffered a severe injury, but it now looks like he could resume practicing on at least a limited basis as soon as next week. Tracy then was escorted to the Hospital for Special Surgery in Manhattan to be evaluated further. Fortunately for Tracy, he's already back in the Giants' facility for meetings, per Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com, meaning he seems to have avoided a major injury.…read more

Taken to hospital with ankle injury
The Giants announced Tuesday that Tracy (ankle) sustained an ankle injury at practice and will be taken to the Hospital for Special Surgery in Manhattan for further evaluation, Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News reports.
Analysis: Tracy had to be carted off the practice field Tuesday during a kickoff drill, with an air cast on his lower right leg. Evaluation at the HSS will provide a comprehensive picture of Tracy's injury, which it looks like could be severe. If the rookie fifth-round pick is forced to miss significant time, Eric Gray and Dante Miller will figure to bump up the backfield depth chart behind veteran starter Devin Singletary.

Outplayed by Gray on Thursday
Tracy rushed five times for 26 yards and wasn't targeted in Thursday's 14-3 preseason win over the Lions.
Analysis: Tracy got the start at running back with veteran Devin Singletary sitting out, and the rookie fifth-round pick looked spry in limited action. His first career carry went for five yards, and Tracy added a 12-yard burst later in the first quarter. Tracy's competing for the backup role against Eric Gray, who exploded for 98 scrimmage yards and two touchdowns on eight first-half touches. While Tracy wasn't targeted in this game, he has substantial upside as a pass catcher, having played wide…read more

Leading battle for No. 2 RB role
Tracy is the leader early in training camp for the Giants' No. 2 running back role behind Devin Singletary, Ryan Dunleavy of the New York Post reports.
Analysis: New York's RB pecking order behind Singletary is far from settled, but Tracy's experience as a pass catcher could be a deciding factor in determining his level of opportunity. The rookie spent most of his college career as a wide receiver, which Dunleavy speculates would make him a "perfect fit" in an offense that may look to the short pass as an extension of the running game. Of course, Tracy's time spent as a wideout has cut into his experience in the backfield, and he recently acknowledged…read more
