Out of hospital
Olave has been discharged from a Charlotte, N.C. hospital and will return to New Orleans with his teammates following Sunday's game against the Panthers.
Analysis: Olave needed a cart to get off the field following a big hit in the middle of the first quarter. Diagnosed with a concussion not long after, he'll be subject to the protocol for head injuries in order to suit up again. The Saints play next Sunday versus the Falcons.

Olave will not return to Sunday's game against the Panthers after sustaining a concussion.
Analysis: Olave was carted off the field Sunday after taking a hard hit. Per a statement released by the team, the wideout has movement in all extremities and is undergoing further evaluation at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center.

Carted off field Sunday
Olave (undisclosed) was carted off the field during Sunday's game at Carolina, John Hendrix of SI.com reports.
Analysis: In the middle of the first quarter, Olave was on the receiving end of a pass from QB Derek Carr and was sandwiched between two Panthers defenders. Olave then remained motionless on the turf and was tended to by the Saints' medical and training staffs before being carted off the field.

Logs 107 yards in return
Olave had eight receptions (on 14 targets) for 107 yards during Sunday's 26-8 defeat to the Chargers.
Analysis: Olave eclipsed 100 receiving yards for the first time this season. He also logged a season high in targets and matched his season high for receptions. This all took place in a game during which Olave temporarily exited for a concussion check and rookie quarterback Spencer Rattler was benched for second-year signal-caller Jake Haener midway through the third quarter. With No. 2 wideout Rashid Shaheed now out for the season with a meniscus injury, Olave could continue to see an increase in…read more

Clears concussion protocol
Olave cleared concussion protocol and will be available for Sunday's game against the Chargers, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Olave already looked on track to be available this weekend after turning in a full practice Thursday, but Terrell's report confirms that the wideout now has received clearance from an independent neurologist, the final stage of the five-step protocol. After sitting out last week's loss to the Broncos, Olave should be ready to reprise his usual duties as the Saints' No. 1 wideout, though he'll be on the receiving end of passes from rookie Spencer Rattler rather than Derek Carr (oblique), the…read more

Full practice Thursday
Olave (concussion) practiced in full Thursday, John Hendrix of SI.com reports.
Analysis: Olave sustained a concussion Sunday, Oct. 13 against the Buccaneers and sat out last Thursday's loss versus the Broncos, but he's made quick work this week by following up Wednesday's limited session with all activity one day later. It's unclear if he's made his way through the protocol for head injuries, but he'll need to gain clearance from an independent neurologist in order to return to action Sunday at the Chargers.

Limited in return to practice
Olave (concussion) practiced in a limited fashion Wednesday, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Making his first appearance on the field since suffering a concussion Oct. 13 against the Buccaneers, Olave was operating with a cap on his reps, indicating he still has a few hurdles to get past in the protocol for head injuries, including clearance from an independent neurologist. His activity level Thursday and Friday may be telling for his chances to return to action Sunday at the Chargers.

Back at practice Wednesday
Olave (concussion) was present at practice Wednesday, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports.
Analysis: Assuming Olave took part in some drills, it would mark his first visible on-field work since sustaining a concussion Oct. 13 against the Buccaneers. The Saints have lost fellow wideout Rashid Shaheed for the season due to meniscus surgery, and quarterback Derek Carr continues to be sidelined with an oblique issue, so getting Olave back will be key for the team's passing game. The Saints will release their first Week 8 injury report later Wednesday, when it will be known how much work Olave was…read more

Remains in concussion protocol
Saints head coach Dennis Allen said Monday that Olave remains in the NFL's five-step concussion protocol, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Olave was unable to suit up last Thursday versus Denver, and he'll still need to gain full clearance -- including from an independent neurologist -- in order to be eligible to play Sunday versus the Chargers. With Rashid Shaheed having undergone season-ending knee surgery and the availability of quarterback Derek Carr (oblique) still uncertain for Week 8, it would provide a key boost for New Orleans' offense if Olave managed to gain clearance in time to play in Los Angeles. Won't play Thursday
Saints head coach Dennis Allen said Wednesday that Olave (concussion) won't play in Thursday's game against the Broncos, John Hendrix of SI.com reports.
Analysis: In the wake of suffering a concussion this past Sunday versus the Buccaneers, Olave wasn't able to practice this week, indicating he's made little-to-no progress through the protocol for head injuries. With Olave and Rashid Shaheed's (knee) sidelined for Week 7, the Saints will be particularly shorthanded at wide receiver Thursday. Not practicing Tuesday
Olave (concussion) isn't participating in Tuesday's practice, Mike Triplett of NewOrleans.Football reports.
Analysis: Olave remains in the NFL's five-step concussion protocol after exiting Sunday's 51-27 loss to the Buccaneers. According to Rod Walker of The New Orleans Times-Picayune, Olave has sustained four documented concussions during his football career dating back to his time in college, and one in each of his first three seasons with the Saints. Non-participant on estimated report
Olave (concussion) was listed as a non-participant on Monday's estimated practice report.
Analysis: Olave made an early exit from Sunday's 51-27 loss to the Buccaneers and eventually was diagnosed with a concussion, so his projected lack of activity one day later isn't a shock. With a Thursday night matchup with the Broncos on tap, he's unlikely to gain clearance from the concussion protocol in time for that contest. Suffers concussion Sunday
Olave won't return to Sunday's game versus the Buccaneers due to a concussion.
Analysis: Olave hauled in a pass from QB Spencer Rattler in the first quarter, after which he took a hit to his upper body. The ball was knocked out of Olave's hands as he was pulled to the turf, and Bucs safety Antoine Winfield picked it up and took it to the house for a defensive touchdown. Struggles in tough matchup
Olave was held to two receptions off of four targets for 10 yards in Monday's 26-13 loss to Kansas City.
Analysis: The premier slot receiver struggled against the Chiefs' premier slot corner Trent McDuffie. Olave finished with his worst fantasy outing since Week 1 despite receiving two extra targets. The 2022 first-round pick provided at least 80 receiving yards in his previous three contests, so fantasy managers shouldn't be down on the Ohio State product ahead of a Week 6 tilt against Tampa Bay.

Big volume in Week 4 loss
Olave caught eight of 10 targets for 87 yards in Sunday's 26-24 loss to the Falcons.
Analysis: The third-year wideout posted nearly identical numbers through the air to Rashid Shaheed (8-83-0 on 11 targets), but no one Saints wideout or tight end managed more than 13 receiving yards. Olave has topped 80 yards in three straight games, showing impressive consistency as one of Derek Carr's top downfield options. but Sunday's catches and targets were both season highs for him. Olave (hamstring) is active for Sunday's game at Atlanta.
Analysis: Olave suffered a hamstring injury at Friday's practice, going down as a limited participant and earning a questionable tag for Week 4. While insiders like Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com and Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported this weekend that the wide receiver was expected to suit up Sunday, Olave's status ultimately came down to a pregame warmup, when he was seen donning a sleeve on his right leg, per Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com. Optimism regarding status Sunday
Olave (hamstring) is slated to test things out in warmups, but Adam Schefter of ESPN relays that the Saints are "confident" the wideout will be able to face the Falcons on Sunday.
Analysis: Olave -- who is officially listed as questionable -- was added to the Saints' Week 4 injury report after suffering a hamstring injury during Friday's practice. However, it appears as though he's trending toward being available for Sunday's 1:00 ET kickoff, barring any pre-game setbacks.

Olave (hamstring), who is listed as questionable for Sunday's game versus Atlanta, is expected to play, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Olave was previously reported to be a game-time decision as he works his way through a hamstring injury he suffered at practice Friday. He now appears set to play, but his status will likely be made official following the team's warmups prior to Sunday's 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff against the Falcons.

Considered game-time decision
Olave (hamstring), who is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Falcons, is considered a game-time decision, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: In the same report, Fowler does say there's some optimism Olave will be able to play, but it'll depend on what happens presumably during a pre-game warm-up. In any case, expect more information regarding Olave's status to come well before the 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff Sunday.

Considered day-to-day, deemed questionable
Olave (hamstring) is considered day-to-day and listed as questionable for Sunday's game at Atlanta, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Analysis: Olave was a late addition to the Week 4 injury report after hurting his hamstring during Friday's practice. The Saints have every incentive to relay uncertainty regardless of the reality, which means fantasy managers need to treat this as a potential game-time decision heading into the weekend. The only good news is that the Saints and Falcons have an early kickoff at 1:00 p.m. ET, leaving plenty of alternatives at wide receiver if Olave ultimately is deemed inactive. Olave suffered a hamstring injury during Friday's practice, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports.

Catches six passes in Sunday's loss
Olave gathered in all six targets for 86 yards and one touchdown during Sunday's 15-12 loss against Philadelphia.
Analysis: Olave had to carry the Saints' passing game after looking like somewhat of an afterthought in the first two games. He got started early with three catches on the opening possesion of the game, and he came up big on the Saints' lone touchdown drive, first catching a 29-yard pass before hauling in a wide-open 13-yard touchdown just four plays later. Four grabs in Sunday's rout
Olave caught four of six targets for 81 yards in Sunday's 44-19 win over the Cowboys.
Analysis: He added seven yards on one carry. Olave was more involved in the Saints' passing game that he had been in the team's opener, leading New Orleans in targets Sunday, but he didn't have much to do in the second half after helping build a 35-16 lead heading into intermission. Olave has taken a back seat to Rashid Shaheed so far in 2024, but he could break out against a mostly inexperienced Eagles secondary in Week 3.

Quiet in Sunday's rout
Olave caught both his targets for 11 yards in Sunday's 47-10 rout of the Panthers.
Analysis: The third-year wideout's numbers were a significant disappointment considering the final score, but Derek Carr's three first-half touchdowns went to Rashid Shaheed, Foster Moreau (head) and Juwan Johnson, and the Saints didn't need to pass the ball in the second half with a massive lead. The overall performance of the Saints' offense was still encouraging for Olave's numbers in the long run, and he should still be locked in as the team's top receiver. Records three receptions Sunday
Olave had three receptions (on four targets) for 26 yards in Sunday's exhibition loss to San Francisco.
Analysis: The Saints' No. 1 wideout looked the part in a brief appearance with the rest of the starters. Olave figures to be the focal part of the Saints' passing game with Michael Thomas departing New Orleans after eight seasons with the club. Derek Carr looked for his top target early and often before the starters departed Sunday. Olave will be shooting for his third 1,000-yard season in as many years since becoming a pro.

One catch to open preseason
Olave secured one of four targets for 10 yards in the Saints' 16-14 preseason win over the Cardinals on Saturday night.
Analysis: Olave was the target on Derek Carr's first three pass attempts on the opening possession, logging his one catch on the second one. The talented third-year wideout, who produced a career-best 87-1,123-5 line across 16 regular-season games in 2023, is in line to serve as Carr's top receiver once again in the coming season. Olave was shed some proven competition for targets when Michael Thomas (knee) was released this offseason.

Returns to practice
Olave practiced Wednesday after exiting early during Tuesday's session with an apparent hip injury, Matthew Paras of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
Analysis: Olave seems to have dealt with more of a bump or bruise than a real injury, given that he was back on the practice field less than 24 hours later. He's locked in as the No. 1 receiver for quarterback Derek Carr and new offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak. Volume shouldn't be an issue, as Olave and running back Alvin Kamara are the only players on the Saints roster that have ever drawn more than 75 targets in an NFL season.

Olave left Tuesday's practice with an apparent hip injury, Jeff Nowak of WWL Radio reports.
Analysis: Olave didn't return to practice afterward, which doesn't mean much given that his injury occurred at the end of the session. He's locked in as the top receiver in New Orleans, where growth for the passing game depends not only on Olave's development but also a better and healthier season from quarterback Derek Carr and potential scheme improvement under new offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak. No limitations at practice
Olave (shoulder) participated Wednesday in the first day of Saints training camp without limitations, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports.
Analysis: Olave's involvement in practice means that he's passed his physical and has been activated from the active/non-football injury list, while his lack of limitations is an indication that he's fully over the shoulder issue that relegated him to a non-contact jersey during spring activities. To practice Wednesday
Coach Dennis Allen said Tuesday that Olave (shoulder), who was placed on the active/non-football injury list last week, will practice in part Wednesday, Matthew Paras of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
Analysis: Olave looks set to come off the NFI list Wednesday, so it looks like he's nearly recovered from the shoulder injury that forced him to wear a non-contact jersey earlier this spring. The Saints are likely taking a cautious approach to the third-year wideout's recovery, given his status as a lynchpin of the receiving game. The Saints placed Olave (shoulder) on the active/non-football injury list Thursday, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Olave continues to work his way back from a shoulder injury sustained while weight training this offseason, and for which he spent OTAs in a non-contact jersey. While the issue seems minor, and Olave will be able to come off the NFI list at any point in training camp once cleared, his status will be worth monitoring. Dealing with minor shoulder injury
Olave injured his shoulder in the weight room a few weeks ago and has been wearing a no-contact jersey at recent OTA practices, Matthew Paras of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
Analysis: The injury is seemingly a minor one, considering Olave has been a full practice participant while donning the no-contract jersey, per Paras. Set as WR1 in Big Easy
Olave once again is in line to serve as the focal point of New Orleans' passing attack after the team added just one wide receiver in the 2024 NFL Draft, selecting Bub Means at No. 170 overall.
Analysis: Olave is coming off back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons to begin his career. The 2022 first-round pick has provided much-needed juice to an otherwise stale Saints offense. In fact, he's the only receiver to put up more than 720 yards in either of the past two seasons, as the team relied largely on aging veterans like Michael Thomas and Jarvis Landry to buoy the passing game. Finishes campaign with TD
Olave secured all three targets for 56 yards and a touchdown in the Saints' 48-17 win over the Falcons on Sunday.
Analysis: Olave finished tied with multiple teammates for second in receptions and was also the runner-up in receiving yards. The second-year wideout also recorded his fifth touchdown of the season on an impressive contested, leaping 26-yard grab early in the third quarter, putting a solid cap on a productive sophomore campaign. Sunday's production pushed Olave's final 2023 line to 87-1,123-5 across 16 games, with all three totals eclipsing his rookie-season tallies.

Analysis: Olave now will play a third straight game since missing Week 15 with an ankle injury. He lit up the Rams for 129 yards the following game but then slumped to 3-26-0 (six targets) Week 17 in a 23-13 win over Tampa Bay. Olave (ankle) was a limited practice participant Thursday, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports.
Analysis: As he did a week ago, Olave has kicked off Week 18 prep with back-to-back capped sessions due to a lingering ankle injury. He maintained that activity level last Friday before entering the weekend without a designation for this past Sunday's game at Tampa Bay, so he appears to be trending in the same direction this time around. Remains limited by ankle injury
Olave (ankle) practiced in a limited capacity Wednesday, John Hendrix of SI.com reports.
Analysis: Since sitting out Week 15 due to the ankle injury, Olave has had mixed results on game days, producing a 9-123-0 receiving line on 13 targets Week 16 versus the Rams and a 3-26-0 line on six targets this past Sunday in Tampa Bay. His practice restrictions this week likely are precautionary, but his status nonetheless should be monitored to ensure he'll be on the field Sunday against the Falcons, who he torched for seven catches (on nine targets) for 119 yards back in Week 12.

Surprisingly quiet in win
Olave secured three of six targets for 26 yards in the Saints' 23-13 win over the Buccaneers on Sunday.
Analysis: Olave came into the game with elevated expectations considering the Buccaneers' defense had struggled against the pass most of the season and was missing Carlton Davis (concussion), but the talented wideout took a back seat to tight end Juwan Johnson. Olave's reception and receiving yardage totals were both his lowest since Week 5, but he'll look to bounce back when the Saints host the Falcons in a key Week 18 divisional clash.

Good to go
Olave (ankle) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against Tampa Bay, Brooke Kirchhofer of NewOrleans.Football reports.
Analysis: This was expected, given that Olave returned for a Week 16 loss to the Rams and caught nine of 13 targets for 123 yards (plus a two-point conversion) just four days after missing a Week 15 win over the Giants. He could even pick up a few more snaps/routes than usual this week with the Saints fighting to stick around in the NFC playoff hunt. Olave's limited participation in Week 17 practices mostly appears borne out of caution.

Olave came out of the gate hot, as he was on the receiving end of Derek Carr's first three passes of the night and parlayed the trio of targets into 36 yards. Ready for Week 16
Olave (ankle) doesn't have a designation for Thursday's game at the Rams.
Analysis: Earlier Wednesday, head coach Dennis Allen relayed that Olave is "good to go" for the Week 16 game, per Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com. Olave wasn't able to practice at all last week before he was deemed inactive ahead of this past Sunday's win over the Giants, but his ability to log a limited walkthrough Tuesday and take part in a full walkthrough one day later paved the way for him to be available this week. He'll thus be facing the Rams' 21st-ranked pass defense (226.1 yards per game)…read more

Expected to play
Saints head coach Dennis Allen said Wednesday that Olave (ankle) will play in Thursday's game at the Rams, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Analysis: The Saints listed Olave as a limited participant in Tuesday's walk-through session, hinting at some level of progress after he missed all three of the team's practices last week before he was inactive for a 24-6 win over the Giants on Sunday. Allen said Olave will play Thursday, though the coach didn't specify whether or not the wideout will be listed with a game day designation on the final Week 16 injury report.

Logs limited walkthrough Tuesday
Olave (ankle) was listed as limited on Tuesday's estimated injury report.
Analysis: After failing to practice in any capacity last week and kicking off this week as a non-participant on Monday's practice estimate, Olave was able to take part in Tuesday's walkthrough, albeit with a cap on his reps. It's the first positive sign for Olave's status since he showed up on the Saints' Week 15 injury report last Wednesday, and he'll have one more chance to prove his health before the team potentially makes a ruling on his availability for Thursday's game at the Rams. Not ready to practice Monday
Olave (ankle) was listed as a non-participant on Monday's practice estimate, Adam Caplan of SiriusXM NFL Radio reports.
Analysis: New Orleans didn't practice Monday, but Olave wouldn't have been available if the team took the field. He didn't practice in any capacity before sitting out this past Sunday's 24-6 win over the Giants, and Olave doesn't have much additional recovery time for his ankle injury before Thursday's pivotal matchup with the Rams.

Inactive in Week 15
Olave (ankle) is inactive for Sunday's contest against the Giants.
Analysis: Olave was able to play through an illness last Sunday against the Panthers, but an ankle injury kept him off the practice field Wednesday through Friday and left his availability for Week 15 up to a pregame workout, per Adam Schefter of ESPN. With the Saints confirming his inactive status Sunday, Olave will miss his first game of the campaign and third outing in his two years as a pro. Iffy for Sunday's game
While the Saints plan to see how Olave's ankle feels during pre-game warmups, Adam Schefter of ESPN relays that one source indicated there is "doubt" that the wideout will play Sunday against the Giants.
Analysis: Olave was listed as a non-participant in practice this week and approached the contest officially listed as questionable. At this stage, his Week 15 status is cloudy, but fortunately for those considering Olave in fantasy lineups, the Saints kick off at 1:00 p.m. ET on Sunday.

Viewed as game-time decision
Olave (ankle) is listed as questionable and will have his status for Sunday's game against the Giants determined after he goes through a pregame warmup, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Analysis: Olave failed to practice in any capacity this week after seemingly sustaining the ankle injury in the Saints' Week 14 win over the Panthers. His lack of practice participation doesn't provide much reason for optimism for his availability Sunday, but Olave has proven capable of playing at less than 100 percent in the past. His status will become official when New Orleans releases its inactive list 90 minutes prior to the game's 1 p.m. ET kickoff.

Questionable for Sunday's contest
Olave (ankle) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Giants, Matthew Paras of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
Analysis: The Saints held Olave out of practice both Wednesday and Thursday due to an ankle injury, and coach Dennis Allen said Friday that the wide receiver's availability for Week 15 will go "right to the wire" ahead of Sunday's 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff. Olave has either surpassed 100 receiving yards or recorded a touchdown in the past five games, so his status is key for New Orleans offense.

Olave (ankle) isn't participating in Thursday's practice, Matthew Paras of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
Analysis: Olave had been questionable heading into this past weekend's game against the Panthers while battling the flu and was limited to four catches for 28 yards and a touchdown on five targets in the Saints' 28-6 win, but the second-year wideout is tending to a new issue during Week 15. Tending to ankle issue
Saints head coach Dennis Allen said Olave didn't practice Wednesday due to an ankle injury, Matthew Paras of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
Analysis: Despite coming down with an illness last Thursday, Olave was able to play through the ailment this past Sunday versus the Panthers, albeit at less than 100 percent. His snap share (65 percent) fell well short of the 80-plus percent that he handled in six of the first 10 games of the campaign, and he managed four catches (on five targets) for 28 yards, salvaging his day with his fourth touchdown of the season. Scores fourth touchdown of season
Olave gathered in four of five targets for 28 yards and one touchdown during Sunday's 28-6 win versus the Panthers.
Analysis: Olave entered the weekend with an illness that had been afflicting him since Thursday, and he seemingly played at less than 100 percent Sunday. The same can be said for quarterback Derek Carr, who noted afterward the he's "up to three rib fractures" through Week 14, per Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com. Misses practice again with flu
Olave is still recovering from the flu and didn't practice Friday, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports.
Analysis: Olave was off the field for a second straight day Friday after being added to the injury report Thursday. Players typically don't miss games due to illnesses, but a seasonal flu can be difficult to overcome, given the symptoms of fatigue and muscle/joint pain that often accompany it. Until the Saints provide another update, Olave is seemingly in genuine danger of sitting out Sunday's matchup with the Panthers.

Analysis: Olave was able to make an accelerated recovery from the concussion that forced an early Week 12 exit, and he finished with a team-high yardage total by a wide margin while tying for the lead in targets as well. The speedster didn't seem to show any ill effects from the head injury, and he's now recorded at least 94 receiving yards in three straight games while eclipsing the 100-yard mark in back-to-back contests for the first time on the campaign. Analysis: Olave is officially listed as questionable for the Week 13 contest, but he's expected to fully clear the NFL's concussion protocol and take the field. Official word on Olave's status will arrive when New Orleans releases its inactive list 90 minutes prior to Sunday's 1 p.m. ET kickoff. Olave (concussion) is listed as questionable for Sunday's contest against the Lions, Matthew Paras of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
Analysis: Considering he suffered a concussion this past Sunday in Atlanta, Olave understandably had practice restrictions Wednesday and Thursday, but a full showing Friday seemingly has him on course to be available this weekend. Still in concussion protocol
Coach Dennis Allen said Olave remains in the concussion protocol as of Friday, but "there's a chance that he could clear it" ahead of Sunday's game against the Lions, Matthew Paras of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
Analysis: Olave has one step to pass before he'll gain clearance for game action, but it's the all-important evaluation from an independent neurologist. On a positive note, he's been able to practice all week, so he seems to be trending in a positive direction ahead of the weekend. Fellow wide receiver Rashid Shaheed (groin) hasn't mixed into drills at all this week, so the Saints' current healthy options at wide receiver on the active roster are A.T. Perry, Lynn Bowden and Keith Kirkwood.

Considering he suffered the head injury this past Sunday in Atlanta, his ability to log some on-field work in back-to-back sessions generally is a positive sign that he may be able to play Week 13. Olave recorded two receptions on five targets for 12 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 34-0 win over the Patriots.
Analysis: The Saints controlled the game from beginning to end, so Derek Carr took to the air only 26 times. Even given that context, Olave's performance left plenty to be desired, as he was out-targeted and out-produced by Michael Thomas. Building chemistry with new QB
Olave and quarterback Derek Carr connected well at Wednesday's practice, Ross Jackson of SI.com reports.
Analysis: Carr is surely pleased to have all his top receivers healthy, after he spent part of the offseason program throwing to backups while Olave (Achilles), Michael Thomas (foot) and Rashid Shaheed (groin) dealt with various medical issues. Olave's Achilles soreness was never reported to be serious, and the 2022 first-round pick should quickly emerge as Carr's favorite option downfield on the heels of a 1,000-yard rookie season.

Sits out practice Thursday
Olave (Achilles) didn't practice Thursday, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports.
Analysis: Per Mike Triplett of NewOrleans.Football, coach Dennis Allen suggested that Olave's injury is nothing to worry about, while indicating the wideout is dealing with some minor Achilles inflammation. With that in mind, we'd expect that Olave -- who was spotted Thursday with tape on his right ankle -- should be past the issue by the time training camp rolls around.

Top wideout in Week 18 loss
Olave had five receptions (on 12 targets) for 60 yards and one touchdown during Sunday's 10-7 defeat to the Panthers.
Analysis: Olave reclaimed his role as New Orleans' top wideout after dealing with a hamstring injury over the previous two weeks, accounting for just under half of New Orleans' 25 total targets Week 18. The rookie receiver got started early with two receptions for 32 yards on the opening drive, including a 25-yard receiving touchdown. However, he did cough up a crucial fumble at the Carolina 24-yard line during the second quarter. This still marked the 6-foot-1 receiver's first game with double-digit…read more

Four catches in return
Olave tallied four receptions on five targets for 42 yards during Sunday's 20-10 victory versus Philadelphia.
Analysis: Olave played 61 percent of the Saints' offensive snaps in his first game back from a hamstring injury. The rookie first-rounder didn't appear limited by this issue while catching all three of his targets for 31 yards on New Orleans' opening drive, but his opportunities dwindled as the Saints' offense shifted to a ball-control game script during the second half. Analysis: Olave sat out Week 16 due to a hamstring injury but has since managed to return to practice as a limited participant, and it looks like the Saints expect him to be back on the field Sunday. The rookie first-round pick's status will be made official prior to Sunday's 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff.

Status in question for Sunday
Olave (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Sunday's contest at Philadelphia, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: One week removed from not practicing before the Saints ruled him out for Week 16 action at Cleveland, Olave was able to muster three limited sessions this Wednesday through Friday as he continues to work through a hamstring issue. With a 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff Sunday, his status will become known before the early slate of games. If New Orleans includes Olave on its inactive list, the team will rely on Rashid Shaheed, Tre'Quan Smith, Marquez Callaway and Kirk Merritt at wide receiver.

Remains limited Thursday
Olave (hamstring) practiced in a limited fashion Thursday.
Analysis: With back-to-back capped sessions under his belt to begin Week 17 prep, Olave is in a better spot than a week ago, when he didn't practice at all before he was sidelined this past Saturday at Cleveland with a hamstring issue. It remains to be seen if he'll enter this weekend with a designation for Sunday's game in Philadelphia, something that will become known once the Saints release their final injury report of the week Friday.

Olave (hamstring) was a limited participant at practice Wednesday.
Analysis: Prior to being inactive this past Saturday in Cleveland due to a hamstring issue, Olave was held out of all drills throughout last week, so his return to the field in any capacity Wednesday is a step in the right direction as the Saints prepare for Sunday's game at Philadelphia. He'll aim to increase his activity level in the coming days, with Friday's practice report indicating whether or not he enters the weekend with a designation.

Back at practice Wednesday
Olave (hamstring) returned to practice Wednesday, Terrin Waack of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
Analysis: Olave didn't practice at all due to the hamstring issue in Week 16 before he was ruled out in advance of this past Saturday's win in Cleveland. It marked the second absence during what's been a productive rookie campaign for the 11th overall pick of this year's draft, as he's just 60 yards shy of 1,000 receiving yards with two games to go in the regular season. Wednesday's injury report will reveal how much work Olave was able to handle in the Saints' first Week 17 session.

Sidelined for Week 16
Olave (hamstring) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Browns, Terrin Waack of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
Analysis: New Orleans will have to get by without two of its starting receivers in Week 16, as neither Olave nor Jarvis Landry (ankle) will be available after both weren't able to practice Friday in any fashion. With the star rookie sidelined and the veteran slot man sitting out, the Saints are left with Rashid Shaheed, Tre'Quan Smith and Marquez Callaway as their likely starting receiver trio.

Another DNP on Wednesday
Olave (hamstring) was held out of practice Wednesday.
Analysis: Olave has yet to practice this week as he tends to a hamstring issue, giving him just one more opportunity to get in some on-field work before the Saints file their final Week 16 injury report Thursday. Fellow wide receiver Jarvis Landry made a sudden appearance on Wednesday's report as a non-participant due to an ankle concern, so the position group will be one to monitor as Saturday's game at Cleveland approaches.

Not seen at practice Wednesday
Olave (hamstring) wasn't spotted at Wednesday's practice, Luke Johnson of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
Analysis: Olave may be trending toward a second consecutive absence from on-field work as he deals with a hamstring issue, which would give him just one more chance to mix into drills during Week 16 prep. Dealing with hamstring issue
Olave was listed as a non-participant on Tuesday's estimated practice report due to a hamstring injury.
Analysis: Aside from sitting out Week 6 with a concussion, Olave has been a model of health during his rookie season en route to 63 catches on 102 targets for 940 yards and three touchdowns in 13 appearances. Now with a new injury, he'll have two more sessions to get back on the field and prove his fitness for Saturday's game in Cleveland.

Moderate outing in rush-heavy win
Olave had three receptions (on four targets) for 53 yards during Sunday's 21-18 victory over Atlanta.
Analysis: Olave logged one his more pedestrian stat lines of the season, as he matched his season low for receptions in a game. However, the rookie wideout still tied Rashid Shaheed for the Saints' second-most targets behind tight end Juwan Johnson (six). Olave also posted at least one reception of 20 or more yards for the ninth time in 13 games this season. The No. 1 wideout should continue to serve a prominent role in New Orleans' limited passing offense against Cleveland in Week 16.

Olave reeled in four of six targets for 65 yards during Monday's 17-16 loss to the Buccaneers.
Analysis: Olave once again paced the Saints in targets. However, the rookie finished as the team's second-leading receiver behind Rashid Shaheed, who posted a career-high 75 yards. Olave also made an uncharacteristic drop on third down that would have given New Orleans' offense an additional red-zone opportunity late in the second quarter. Analysis: New Orleans' offense sputtered as a whole, but Olave was able to produce against a tough defense. The standout rookie could have had a bigger game had his quarterback not struggled, as he almost made two circus catches on poorly-thrown balls that would have resulted in an additional 30-plus yards and a touchdown. Analysis: For the first time since Week 4, Olave faced legitimate target competition due to the return of Jarvis Landry (groin). Olave appears set to serve as the Saints' top wideout for the rest of the season after head coach Dennis Allen announced Thursday that Michael Thomas (toe) was set to undergo surgery and unlikely to play again in 2022, John Sigler of USA Today reports.
