Placed on injured reserve
The Bears placed Jones (shoulder) on injured reserve Thursday, Scott Bair of Marquee Sports Network reports.
Analysis: Jones was injured in last Sunday's Week 9 loss to the Cardinals and will now miss a minimum of four games. The 27-year-old defensive back has appeared in eight games this season, seeing 76 snaps on defense and another 140 on special teams. Jones has 15 tackles (13 solo) and two pass breakups.

Done for night
Jones (shoulder) has been downgraded to out for the rest of Sunday's contest with the Cardinals.
Analysis: Jones is officially done for the night after suffering a shoulder injury against Arizona. He'll now shift his focus to being ready to go for the team's Week 10 matchup with the Patriots.

Unlikely to return Sunday
Jones (shoulder) is doubtful to return to Sunday's contest with the Cardinals, Scott Bair of Marquee Sports Network reports.
Analysis: Jones is likely done for the night after suffering a shoulder injury in the second half against Arizona. With Terell Smith (ankle) also ruled out, the Bears are rather thin in the secondary.

Double-digit tackles in victory
Jones tallied 10 stops in the Bears' 35-16 win over the Jaguars on Sunday.
Analysis: Jones took over a starting role with Tyrique Stevenson (calf) missing this game due to injury. When Stevenson returns, Jones will return to a depth role. Coming into this game, Jones had a total of four tackles over five games.

Drawing Week 6 start
Jones is expected to start at cornerback in Sunday's game against the Jaguars in London, Scott Bair of Marquee Sports Network reports.
Analysis: Jones will pick up his first start since the 2022 season as he steps in as a replacement at one of the boundary corner spots for Tyrique Stevenson (calf), who is inactive. Over his five appearances on the season, Jones has tallied four tackles and two pass breakups across 104 total snaps (10 on defense, 94 on special teams).

Set to hit free agency
Jones ended the season with 23 tackles in 17 games played.
Analysis: After playing 440 snaps as a rookie in 2022, Jones played just 142 snaps in 2023. From Week 10 on, the cornerback played just 35 total snaps, as his role decreased from earlier in the season. Jones is an unrestricted free agent who will look to land a depth role at cornerback.

Participates in minicamp
Jones (concussion) participated in Chicago's mandatory minicamp Thursday, Alyssa Barbieri of USA Today reports.
Analysis: During his rookie campaign, the 25-year-old played in 16 games appearing on both defense and special teams en route to logging 47 tackles (33 solo). Now past the concussion that he sustained in Week 18 last season, Johnson will likely serve as a rotational player in the Bears' secondary in 2023.

Rotational player in 2022
Jones, who left Sunday's game with a concussion, ended the season with 49 tackles and a forced fumble over 16 games played.
Analysis: Jones played mostly on special teams through Week 8, but when the Bears dealt with injuries at cornerback, he moved into a more prominent role. He played more than 30 snaps on just four occasions, but in two of those games, he posted tackle totals of eight and 14. He should continue to serve as a rotational player in 2023. He's signed through the 2024 season.

Ruled out with concussion
Jones has been ruled out for Sunday's matchup against the Vikings due to a concussion.
Analysis: Jones presumably suffered a concussion during the Bears' blowout loss to Detroit in Week 17 and didn't practice at all during Week 18 prep, so it's not surprising to see him ruled out. Kyler Gordon (groin) is questionable, so Chicago may be without two of its top cornerbacks for the regular-season finale against Minnesota.

Surprises with big game
Jones tallied eight stops in the Bears' 28-19 loss to the Packers on Sunday.
Analysis: Jones stepped into the lineup with Kyler Gordon out, and ended up second on the team in tackles. Should Gordon miss time after Chicago's Week 14 bye, Jones could be considered a streaming option in IDP leagues.

Huge performance
Jones notched 13 tackles in the Bears' 29-22 loss to the Vikings on Sunday.
Analysis: With Jaylon Johnson (quadriceps) sitting this one out, Jones played a prominent role for the defense, and he led the team in tackles. Of course, in a similar role last week, he posted just three tackles. If Johnson misses another game, Jones would be considered a volatile IDP option.
