Russell Wilson remains one of the best deep-threat quarterbacks in the league, and without much depth behind his two speedy wideouts, Metcalf and Lockett are likely to alternate big performances on a weekly basis. Next up is a Week 2 matchup against the Titans on Sunday.

No preseason action

Metcalf didn't play in Saturday's preseason finale against the Chargers.

Analysis: The Seahawks kept Metcalf -- along with Russell Wilson, Tyler Lockett (groin) and Chris Carson -- on the sidelines for all three preseason games. Nothing's more important for Metcalf than getting to the regular season healthy after the 23-year-old posted 83 receptions for 1,303 yards and 10 touchdowns on 129 targets last season. As long as he's healthy, he'll be an elite fantasy option and should be drafted as such.

May not play Saturday

Metcalf is not likely to play in Saturday's preseason game against Denver, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports.

Analysis: Metcalf was doing a lot of work pregame, suggesting that may be the only action he sees on the night. The Seahawks announced that 22 players will not hit the field for the game, though didn't specify exactly who would be sidelined. Other strong candidates to sit out include Russell Wilson, Gerald Everett and Tyler Lockett.

Snares two scores in loss

Metcalf caught five of 11 targets for 96 yards and two touchdowns in Saturday's 30-20 wild-card loss to the Rams.

Analysis: Metcalf was only targeted once over the first four drives, and when he was finally targeted again midway through the second quarter, Rams cornerback Darious Williams hopped in front of the pass, intercepting it and taking it the other way for six points. His fate changed on the next drive, however, as Russell Wilson scrambled left and threw a deep pass to Metcalf for a 51-yard touchdown -- the Seahawks' longest play of the day. Analysis: Russell Wilson spread the ball around in the rout, and while nine different Seahawks recorded receptions and four different Seattle players were on the end of TD passes, it was Metcalf who paced the club in catches, targets and yards. The second-year wideout now has a career-high 10 touchdowns on the season heading into Week 15's road clash with a much stingier Washington secondary.

Analysis: If it wasn't already clear, Metcalf is uncoverable. All-Pro cornerback Tre'Davious White (ankle) shadowed the second-year wide receiver Sunday, but Metcalf produced anyway with his fourth 100-yard receiving effort and eighth touchdown of the season. His ability to beat teams at every level and then run after the catch makes his 2019 second-round draft spot a true head-scratcher. Metcalf will look to stay hot in Week 10 against the Rams.

Unstoppable in Week 8

Metcalf recorded 12 receptions on 15 targets for 161 yards and two touchdowns in Week 8 against the 49ers.

Analysis: After being shut down for 23 total yards in Week 7, Metcalf exploded to top 100 receiving yards for the third time this season. Analysis: Metcalf came down to earth after setting a rookie playoff record with 160 receiving yards in the wild-card round. Despite the disappointing ending, Metcalf still posted an outstanding campaign after being picked in the second round out of Ole Miss, totaling 58 catches for 900 yards and seven touchdowns in the regular season. The physically gifted receiver will be especially popular in dynasty formats, but he should get plenty of attention in redraft formats next season as well.

Enormous performance versus Eagles

Metcalf caught seven of nine targets for 160 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 17-9 wild-card win over the Eagles.

Analysis: Metcalf mustered up the best performance of his NFL career just at the right time. He was Russell Wilson's favorite target. His day was highlighted by a 53-yard touchdown pass where he battled defenders to get into the end zone, and he iced the game by hauling in another 36-yard toss. The Seahawks will travel to Green Bay in the divisional round next Sunday, and while the Packers' secondary is sturdier than the Eagles, it'll be tough to slow down Metcalf when he's playing like this.

Metcalf caught six of 12 targets for 81 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 26-21 loss to the 49ers.

Analysis: After going catchless in Week 16's loss to the Cardinals, this was an impressive bounce-back effort for the rookie. Metcalf (knee) was a full participant in Friday's practice, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.

Analysis: Seattle listed Metcalf as a limited participant on Thursday's estimated practice report, so his upgrade to full activity should put to rest any concern about his Week 13 availability. Meanwhile, top wideout Tyler Lockett (shin/illness) failed to practice Friday, so Metcalf and Josh Gordon could be in line for enhanced roles in the Seattle passing attack in the event Lockett isn't ready to play Monday versus the Vikings.

Limited by knee injury

Metcalf was listed as limited on Thursday's practice estimate due to a knee injury, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.

Analysis: Metcalf underwent minor knee surgery in mid-August but completed his recovery in time to take the field Week 1 and hasn't looked back, putting together a 38-630-5 line on 70 targets. His current limitations may merely be maintenance-based, with his listing on the Seahawks' next two injury reports perhaps clearing up his status before Monday's game versus the Vikings.

Metcalf caught three of six targets for 35 yards in Sunday's 17-9 win over the Eagles.

Analysis: The Seahawks struggled to get things going through the air -- Russell Wilson completed 13 passes for 200 yards -- so Metcalf ended up below 50 yards for the fourth time this year. The rookie wideout's stat line would've been more appealing had he hung onto a 38-yard pass in the end zone. Metcalf and the Seahawks will look to notch their 10th win in Week 13 against the Vikings.

Metcalf hauled in six of 10 targets for 70 yards in Monday's 27-24 overtime win against the 49ers.

Analysis: Metcalf enjoyed his highest target count of the season, as he trends up in that department with at least nine looks in three of the last four contests. His night may be remembered by its hiccup, however, as the rookie wideout looked like he was going to drag multiple defenders into the end zone but got stripped of the ball by Jaquiski Tartt on the two-yard line.
