Records first sack Sunday
Sweat notched a sack for his only tackle in Sunday's Week 4 loss to Tampa Bay.
Analysis: Sweat's sack of Baker Mayfield late in the third quarter resulted in a two-yard loss. It was Sweat's first sack of the campaign, though he's been on the field plenty, having logged over half of the Eagles' defensive snaps in each of the team's first four games. Sweat is looking to extend a four-year streak of recording at least 6.0 sacks.

Restructures deal
The Eagles restructured Sweat's contract ahead of the 2024 season Friday, Cayden Steele of NJ.com reports.
Analysis: The 26-year-old defensive end's restructured contract allows him to make up to $13 million in 2024, with $10 million guaranteed, per Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com. Sweat saw a dip in production last season compared to the previous two years, but he was still fairly impactful nonetheless. The Florida State product appeared in all 17 of the Eagles' regular-season outings, logging 43 total tackles, including 6.5 sacks. Sweat is expected to remain one of the most productive players on Philadelphia's…read more

Second on team with 6.5 sacks
Sweat finished his sixth NFL season with 6.5 sacks (second-best on the Eagles) and 43 tackles in 17 regular-season games.
Analysis: Sweat was a larger part of the Eagles' defensive end rotation this season, as his 71 percent snap share was a big jump over his 56 percent mark from last season. His numbers took a step back despite the extra opportunities, however, as he couldn't come close to matching his 11.0 sacks from 2022. That's largely due to a late-season slump, as Sweat had 5.5 sacks through nine games but didn't manage another until Week 18.

Two sacks in win
Sweat logged two tackles (two solo), which were both sacks, in Philadelphia's 31-17 win against the Dolphins on Sunday.
Analysis: Sweat recorded two of the Eagles' four sacks of Tua Tagovailoa on Sunday, as he helped slow down the NFL's highest scoring offense. The 2018 fourth-round pick is on pace to set a new career high for sacks and currently has 5.5 through seven games.

Gets to the quarterback Sunday
Sweat recorded two tackles (two solo) including a sack in Sunday's 20-14 loss at the Jets.
Analysis: Sweat registered a sack for the third time in Philadelphia's last five games Sunday after beating left tackle Mekhi Becton with a sweet swim move. He should continue to play a major role on the edge for the Eagles in Week 7 versus the Dolphins.

Cleared for Monday
Sweat (toe) was a full participant in Saturday's practice and will play in Monday's matchup against the Buccaneers.
Analysis: Sweat popped up on Thursday's injury report after logging in a limited session. He's continued to be a formidable force for the Eagles' defensive front and has registered three tackles (one solo), 1.5 sacks, six QB hits and a forced fumble through two games this year.

Limited Thursday
Sweat (toe) was limited in Thursday's practice.
Analysis: It's a new injury for the 26-year-old, but the limited session puts him on the right track for Monday night's Week 3 date with the Bucs. Sweat has six QB hits, 1.5 sacks and a forced fumble through two games to begin the year.

Not listed on injury report
Sweat isn't listed on the Eagles' injury report Tuesday.
Analysis: Sweat was sidelined for the regular-season finale due to a neck injury he suffered in Week 17, but the Eagles' wild-card bye proved beneficial. The veteran defensive end's omission from the injury report suggests he's put the issue behind him and should be full go for Saturday's divisional-round matchup against the Giants. Sweat posted a career-high 11 sacks this season and is a key piece of Philadelphia's vaunted defensive front.

Ruled out for Week 18
Sweat (neck) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Giants.
Analysis: Sweat was deemed day-to-day after being released from the hospital Sunday, but he'll ultimately be sidelined for at least one contest due to a neck injury he suffered in Week 17. The severity of the issue remains unclear, but the defensive end said on Twitter earlier this week that he plans to return prior to the end of the season.

Considered day-to-day
Sweat (neck) is being evaluated on a day-to-day basis after being released from the hospital Sunday, Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
Analysis: Coach Nick Sirianni didn't offer much information regarding Sweat's recovery Monday, but the defensive lineman recently said on Twitter that he plans to return prior to the end of the season. His status for Sunday's game against the Giants will likely come into focus based on how much he's able to practice this week.

Should leave hospital Sunday
Sweat (neck) is expected to be discharged from the hospital Sunday night, Dave Zangaro of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.
Analysis: Sweat's admittance into the hospital was believed to be precautionary, after he suffered a neck injury in Sunday's loss to the Saints. He was able to move his extremities after the hit, but he was still stretchered off the field. His ability to leave the hospital will certainly be great news for Sweat and the Eagles.

Taken to hospital
Sweat was transported to a local hospital after suffering a neck injury in Sunday's game against the Saints.
Analysis: Sweat does have movement in all of his extremities, so his trip to the hospital is likely precautionary. The injury occurred on an attempted tackle of Adam Prentice, which saw Sweat lunge head first into Prentice's side. Brandon Graham is now the only healthy pass rusher active for the Eagles on Sunday.

Posts two sacks Sunday
Sweat recorded six tackles (five solo), including two sacks, during Sunday's 25-20 win over Chicago.
Analysis: Sweat continued his hot streak of bringing down opposing quarterbacks, recording both of his sacks on just one drive in the fourth quarter. The fifth-year defensive end has been a key component of the Eagles' top-ranked pass rush, recording a career-high 9.5 sacks over 14 games this season as well as six over the last four weeks. Sweat should have a chance to continue adding to this impressive total as the Cowboys are forced to devote attention across the Eagles' deep defensive line.

Picks up two sacks
Sweat recorded four tackles (two solo) and two sacks in Sunday's 35-10 victory over the Titans.
Analysis: Sweat has now recorded four sacks in his last four games and has 6.5 on the season. The 25-year-old did his damage on just 27 defensive snaps (49 percent). He will look to stay hot when the Eagles travel to New York for their Week 14 matchup with the Giants.

Back to full strength
Sweat (illness) is now 100 percent after being rushed to the hospital due to internal bleeding in his abdomen from a ruptured artery in January, Jimmy Kempski of PhillyVoice.com reports.
Analysis: Sweat missed the Eagles' playoff game against the Buccaneers in January after undergoing an emergency procedure due to a serious medical matter. Details on the issue were undisclosed at the time, but Sweat played in the Pro Bowl at the end of January and appears fully recovered. The four-year pro set career highs across the board last season and figures to be an integral part of the Eagles' defensive line next season.

Career-best season in 2021
Sweat (illness) totaled 45 tackles (19 solo), 7.5 sacks, a forced fumble and four pass defenses in 16 games during the 2021 season.
Analysis: Sweat recorded career-best marks in tackles, sacks and pass defenses, despite missing the Eagles' regular-season finale and wild-card loss. Although the 24-year-old took a step forward in 2021, he underwent an emergency procedure to address a serious medical matter in early January, so his offseason availability isn't yet clear.

Won't play Sunday
Sweat (illness) is inactive for Sunday' playoff game against the Buccaneers.
Analysis: Per Adam Schefter of ESPN, Sweat underwent an emergency procedure Tuesday to address a serious medical matter. Though the report notes that Sweat improved every day to the point that he came close to playing Sunday, he wasn't quite ready to suit up. In the pass rusher's absence, Ryan Kerrigan, Milton Williams and Tarron Jackson are candidates to see added snaps.

Questionable for Sunday
Sweat (illness) is questionable for Sunday's contest against the Buccaneers, Dave Zangaro of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.
Analysis: Sweat was inactive for the Eagles' regular-season finale with an illness, and it appears he hasn't shaken the aliment yet. Zangaro reports that the fourth-year defensive end continues to have abdominal pain due to the illness, but he was able to return to team facilities Friday, which is a step in the right direction. If he's unable to suit up for the wild-card matchup against Tampa Bay, Ryan Kerrigan would likely be the next man up.

Gets to QB in Week 13
Sweat logged three tackles (one solo) and 1.5 sacks in Sunday's 33-18 win over the Jets.
Analysis: Sweat hasn't been very productive in the tackles column recently, but he reached the quarterback for the first time since Week 8 during Sunday's victory. Across the last five games, he's totaled just seven tackles (three solo) and 1.5 sacks.

Playing against Denver
Sweat (concussion) is active for Sunday's game against the Broncos, according to Tim McManus of ESPN.com.
Analysis: Sweat's active status isn't surprising, as he was widely expected to clear the concussion protocol in the buildup to this game. This means Ryan Kerrigan will revert to a reserve role, with Sweat taking most of the snaps at defensive end.

Expects to play Sunday
Sweat (concussion) is listed as questionable but is expected to clear concussion protocols and play in Week 10 against the Broncos, Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
Analysis: Sweat suffered a concussion during the Eagles' Week 9 loss to the Chargers. The defensive end recorded a limited practice Thursday and is expected to clear concussion protocols Saturday. Expect Ryan Kerrigan to see an increased role Sunday if Sweat suffers any setback and is unable to suit up.

Sweat (concussion) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice session.

Inks extension
Sweat and the Eagles have agreed on a three-year, $40 million extension, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Analysis: The deal will keep Sweat in Philadelphia throughout the 2024 season. The fourth-year defensive end drew rave reviews from teammates throughout training camp and is expected to be a breakout candidate in 2021. He recorded six sacks in 2020 while playing just 38 percent of defensive snaps.

Breakout on tap?
Sweat has been one of the stars of training camp, Martin Frank of Delaware News Journal reports.
Analysis: Coming off a season in which he logged six sacks while playing just 38 percent of defensive snaps, Sweat was already looking at more playing time before Derek Barnett came down with a shoulder injury. The fourth-year vet has drawn rave reviews from his teammates all preseason and could be in line for a breakout in 2021.

Best season of career
Sweat (wrist) had 38 tackles (24 solo), six sacks, two defensed passes and three forced fumbles across 14 games in 2020.
Analysis: Sweat managed career-high marks across the board before landing on IR due to a wrist injury Week 15. He was expected to return in the event of an Eagles postseason run, however, which bodes well for his chances of being ready for the (tentative) start of offseason workouts. He'll be entering the final year of his rookie deal in 2021.

Goes to injured reserve
Sweat (wrist) was placed on injured reserve Saturday.
Analysis: The 2018 fourth-round draft choice contributed two sacks against the Saints as Philadelphia pulled off a Week 14 upset, but he had to exit in the first quarter of last Sunday's loss to Arizona. Now confirmed out for at least three games given his IR designation, Sweat won't have a chance at another appearance this season unless the Eagles reach the playoffs and advance a round.

Set to miss a few weeks
Sweat (wrist) will not suit up against the Cowboys on Sunday and is expected to miss multiple weeks, James Palmer of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Sweat appears to be in danger of missing the final two games of the regular season, but it sounds like his injury is something that could allow him to return for the playoffs, in the event that the Eagles make it to the postseason. Genard Avery and Vinny Curry will both be candidates for increased roles as long as Sweat remains sidelined.

Injures wrist Sunday
Sweat was forced out of Sunday's game versus the Cardinals with a wrist injury.
Analysis: Sweat went directly to the locker room in the first quarter, possibly to undergo an X-ray. The third-year defensive end is a fierce pass rusher with six sacks this season. Vinny Curry likely will see an uptick in usage behind starter Brandon Graham and Derek Barnett moving forward.

Two sacks Sunday
Sweat recorded five tackles (four solo), two sacks and a forced fumble across 25 defensive snaps in Sunday's win over the Saints.
Analysis: Sweat caused headaches for Taysom Hill all day, taking down the quarterback twice during the contest, one of which resulted in a fumble that was recovered by the Eagles. He is now third on the team in sacks with six to go along with 38 tackles (24 solo) on the year.

Notches third sack
Sweat had two tackles and a sack during Sunday's 25-20 win over the 49ers.
Analysis: Sweat played a season-low 37 percent of defensive snaps Sunday, but that didn't stop him from adding to his sack total. The 23-year-old has 10 tackles (seven solo), three sacks and one forced fumble through Week 4.

Flashes pass-rushing ability
Sweat recorded 21 tackles, four sacks and a pass breakup over 16 regular-season games in 2019.
Analysis: In his second professional season, Sweat displayed a strong pass-rushing presence, logging 15 quarterback pressures. The 22-year-old finished with 355 defensive snaps, ranking fourth among the Eagles' defensive ends behind Brandon Graham, Derek Barnett and Vinny Curry. Curry will be a free agent in March while both Graham and Barnett are under contract in 2020, so Sweat will likely work in a rotational role again.
