Reaches injury settlement
The Giants and McKenzie (lower body) reached an injury settlement Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reported.
Analysis: McKenzie was set to spend the 2024 season on injured reserve with the Giants after suffering a lower body injury in the preseason, but he'll now have a chance to return to the field with a new team. The wide receiver appeared in 13 contests with the Colts in 2023, racking up 11 catches for 82 yards while also compiling 356 total yards on kick and punt returns.

Placed on season-ending IR
The Giants placed McKenzie (lower body) on injured reserve Tuesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: New York opted not to designate McKenzie for return, meaning his placement on injured reserve is season-ending, barring an injury settlement. The veteran wideout reportedly suffered a knee laceration and a right foot injury during the Giants' final preseason game. His absence for the 2024 season will open up opportunities in the return game for other players on New York's roster, especially if Gunner Olszewski (groin) doesn't return to full health in quick fashion.

Banged up heading into Week 1
McKenzie suffered a right foot injury and also had a laceration on his knee following Saturday's 10-6 preseason loss to the Jets, Art Stapleton of The Bergen Record reports.
Analysis: McKenzie recorded two receptions on two targets for 15 yards and was also the team's primary punt returner. The latter role is his potential path to a roster spot, as McKenzie tallied 204 punt return yards and 152 kick return yards in 2023. He's on the roster bubble and will now be set for an MRI in the coming days, another factor that could affect his status with the Giants.

Set to sign with Giants
McKenzie and the Giants reached an agreement Tuesday on a one-year contract, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: The deal reunites him with Giants head coach Brian Daboll, who was the offensive coordinator in Buffalo from 2018 to 2021. McKenzie was the Bills' third or fourth WR for much of that time, though his receiving production peaked in 2022 (42-423-4) under OC Ken Dorsey and then crashed in 2023 (11-82-0) when the wideout left for Indianapolis. McKenzie turns 29 in April and may end up contributing more as a return man than a wide receiver in New York.

Suspension lifted by Colts
The Colts activated McKenzie from the reserve-suspended list Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.
Analysis: McKenzie was suspended by Indianapolis on Dec. 19 for conduct detrimental to the team. He did not play in the final three games of the regular season and finished the year with 11 catches on 14 targets for 82 yards over 13 games.

Gets suspended by team
The Colts placed McKenzie on their reserve/suspended list for the remainder of the season Tuesday for conduct detrimental to the team, Nate Atkins of The Indianapolis Star reports.
Analysis: McKenzie was a healthy scratch for Saturday's game versus the Steelers, and he'll now miss the rest of the year. D.J. Montgomery could see some more reps out of the slot in the meantime.

Inactive Saturday
McKenzie is inactive for Saturday's game against the Steelers.
Analysis: With McKenzie a healthy scratch Saturday, Michael Pittman, Josh Downs and Alec Pierce will lead the Colts' Week 15 WR corps, with D.J. Montgomery and Ethan Fernea in reserve. McKenzie, who last caught a pass in Week 10, has recorded an 11/82/0 receiving line on 14 targets through 13 contests this season.

Full go Thursday
McKenzie (toe) was a full participant in Thursday's practice.
Analysis: The veteran wideout missed Wednesday's practice with a toe injury, but after practicing with no limitations Thursday, it seems as if he's been able to move past the issue. McKenzie has filled a limited offensive role in his first year with Indianapolis, catching 11 of his 14 targets for 82 yards and playing on 14 percent of the team's offensive snaps.

Estimated as DNP on Wednesday
McKenzie (toe) was listed as a nonparticipant on the Colts' practice estimate Wednesday, James Boyd of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: McKenzie played just five offensive snaps during Sunday's win versus the Buccaneers, and that he may have been nursing a toe injury would be a reasonable explanation for his limited involvement. Indianapolis' injury reports Thursday and Friday will give a better idea of whether he'll be available in Week 13 at Tennessee.

Four grabs in win
McKenzie reeled in all four of this targets for 31 yards in Sunday's 10-6 win over the Patriots.
Analysis: McKenzie four receptions on four targets and 31 yards were season-highs in each category. Additionally, the veteran's 46 percent offensive snap share was his highest mark of the 2023 campaign. With that said, McKenzie was unable to take a big leap in his production as fellow wideout Michael Pittman soaked up 12 targets from Gardner Minshew. Two receptions in win
McKenzie had two receptions for 12 yards on three targets in Sunday's win at Carolina. He also had three punt returns for an 11-yard average.
Analysis: McKenzie played a season-high 24 snaps on offense with Josh Downs leaving with a knee injury. McKenzie would likely be the starting slot receiver Sunday against the Patriots in Germany if Downs were to miss the game.

Gets one carry in loss
McKenzie had one carry for seven yards but did not have a target in Sunday's loss to Cleveland. He also returned two kickoffs for a 19-yard average and four punts for a 9.5-yard average.
Analysis: McKenzie left briefly after being checked for a concussion. He played a season-high nine snaps on offense, but that usage isn't enough for viable fantasy value in most leagues outside of those that include return yards.

Two receptions in loss
McKenzie had two receptions for 23 yards on two targets and returned two punts for 13 yards in Sunday's loss at Jacksonville.
Analysis: McKenzie played just four snaps on offense as continues to primarily serve as a special-teams player. However, he could see a larger role on offense if Alec Pierce misses time with a shoulder injury.

Takes over kick-return role
McKenzie had one carry for four yards and wasn't targeted in Sunday's win over Tennessee. He returned one punt for five yards and one kickoff for 19 yards.
Analysis: McKenzie was used on a gadget option play in the backfield but otherwise wasn't a factor in the offense. He played on seven of the offense's 66 snaps. His primary role remains in the return game, where he added kickoff-return duties to his punt-return job after the season-ending injury to Dallis Flowers (Achilles).

Just one reception
McKenzie had one reception for six yards on three targets in Sunday's overtime loss to the Rams. He also returned one punt for 13 yards.
Analysis: McKenzie played on seven of the offense's 64 snaps as he continues to have a limited role as the fourth receiver. He could have a larger role on special teams with Dallis Flowers' season-ending Achilles injury, as McKenzie may take over Flower's role as the primary kickoff returner as well.

Makes impact on punt returns
McKenzie had one reception for three yards on his only target in Sunday's overtime win over Baltimore. He also returned two punts for 16 and 32 yards.
Analysis: McKenzie played just nine snaps on offense, a slight increase from two snaps Week 2. He has a limited role as the Colts' fourth receiver but made an impact as a punt returner.

Records first reception with Indy
McKenzie had one reception for seven yards on one target in Sunday's win at Houston. He also returned one punt for no gain.
Analysis: McKenzie played just two snaps on offense after only playing special teams in Week 1. McKenzie lost the starting slot receiver role to rookie Josh Downs in preseason, and the former is therefore likely to mostly be used as a punt returner.

McKenzie had two punt returns for an average of 10 yards in Sunday's loss to Jacksonville. He played just one snap on offense and didn't have any targets.

Brought back by Indy
The Colts re-signed McKenzie on Thursday.

Let go by Indianapolis
The Colts released McKenzie on Wednesday, Kevin Bowen of 107.5 The Fan Indianapolis reports.
Analysis: The move doesn't come as a total shock, given the lack of guaranteed money on McKenzie's one-year contract. Rookie Josh Downs locked down the No. 3 wideout job for Indianapolis, and he and cornerback Dallis Flowers can handle any return work that might otherwise have gone to McKenzie.

Plays with backups
McKenzie caught his only target for eight yards in Thursday's 27-13 preseason win over the Eagles.
Analysis: McKenzie appeared to only play with the backups, while rookie Josh Downs (no catches on two targets) took a vast majority of snaps with the first-team offense alongside Michael Pittman and Alec Pierce. If it's the same alignment Week 1 against Jacksonville, it might mean McKenzie is limited to work on returns and perhaps the occasional trick play or jet sweep.

Gets start at slot receiver
McKenzie drew the start as the No. 3 receiver in Saturday's preseason loss at Buffalo and had three receptions for 20 yards on four targets.
Analysis: McKenzie did draw criticism from his receivers coach for a miscommunication on a route that led to an opening-drive interception, but he was otherwise productive. He's battling rookie Josh Downs for the slot receiver role. The job battle may not be decided until late in the preseason.

Listed as No. 3 receiver
McKenzie is listed as the No. 3 receiver on the Colts' first unofficial depth chart of the preseason, Raven Moore of the team's official site reports.
Analysis: He's notably listed ahead of rookie Josh Downs, his primary competition for the slot role, though McKenzie getting the No. 3 designation may be in deference to his veteran status. Given the third-round draft capital the Colts invested into him, Downs may still be the frontrunner to win the slot job, but McKenzie could still craft out a meaningful rule even as Indianapolis' No. 4 receiver and punt returner.

Faces slot WR competition
McKenzie will face competition for the starting slot receiver role from 2023 third-round pick Josh Downs, the Indianapolis Star reports.
Analysis: Indianapolis wide receiver coach Reggie Wayne called Downs the best receiver in the 2023 draft class, so that may be an indication he has a head start in the race. The Colts signed McKenzie for just one year and $1.23 million, so it's not a lock he even makes the Week 1 roster. Finds home in Indy
The Colts are signing McKenzie to a contract Tuesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Analysis: McKenzie put up a 42-423-4 receiving line across 15 games with the Bills last season, in addition to nine carries for 55 yards and a rushing score. He could get a chance to earn significant playing time in Indianapolis' receiving corps, alongside Michael Pittman and Alec Pierce, though the team could still add pass-catchers in April's draft. During the 2022 season, McKenzie recorded 42 catches for 423 yards and four TDs as well as nine carries for 55 yards and a rushing TD in 15 games. Best season as a pro
McKenzie finished the regular season with 42 catches for 423 yards and four TD receptions to go with nine carries for 55 yards and a rushing TD over 15 games.
Analysis: McKenzie served as the No. 3 receiver for most of the season, but his week-to-week production was spotty between inconsistent usage and some minor injuries. He never posted more than three catches or 40 yards after Week 13, including the playoffs. Still, overall it was a decent season for the 2017 fifth-rounder, as McKenzie had previously never reached this level of production. Analysis: McKenzie was inactive for the Bills' wild-card win over Miami due to a hamstring injury. However, per Brown, the slot wideout said he's about 90 percent healthy, despite not taking part in any running during Wednesday's practice because it was a walk-through workout. McKenzie (hamstring) is inactive for Sunday's playoff game against the Dolphins.

McKenzie (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Sunday's playoff opener against the Dolphins after not practicing Thursday or Friday, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports.
Analysis: McKenzie's status for the Bills' wild-card round contest could come down to a game-time decision ahead of the team's 1:00 ET kickoff Sunday. In the event that McKenzie is limited or unavailable for the contest, Khalil Shakir, John Brown and Cole Beasley would be candidates to log added snaps versus Miami behind top wideouts Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis.

McKenzie (hamstring) wasn't spotted at practice Thursday, Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: McKenzie was listed as limited at Wednesday's practice, so what he's able to do Friday will be a key indicator regarding his availability for Sunday's playoff opener against the Dolphins. McKenzie was listed as a limited practice participant Wednesday due to a hamstring injury, Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic reports.

Catches two passes in win
McKenzie caught two of three targets for 19 yards in Sunday's 35-23 win over the Patriots.
Analysis: McKenzie continued to operate as the Bills' No. 3 receiver Sunday, playing 33 of Buffalo's 59 offensive snaps. However, the veteran was unable make a major imprint in the box score, which has become a recurring trend. He didn't find the end zone in any of the final five games of the regular season, nor did he top 50 total yards on any occasion.

Low volume in Sunday's win
McKenzie caught three of five targets for 21 yards while rushing once for seven yards in Sunday's win over the Jets.
Analysis: McKenzie is an exciting player and has the speed to serve as a spark plug for the Buffalo offense, but he's far from consistent for fantasy purposes. Sunday was the seventh time this season he's gone for 21 receiving yards or less, and his 38-380-4 line in 12 games played is modest. With the Bills signing Cole Beasley on Tuesday, McKenzie may soon have some competition for slot work, plus Jamison Crowder could return this season as well.

Five catches in Week 13 win
McKenzie brought in all five targets for 44 yards in the Bills' 24-10 win over the Patriots on Thursday night.
Analysis: McKenzie checked in third in receptions and second in receiving yards on the night for the Bills, putting together a solid follow-up performance to his 6-96-1 line against the Lions on Thanksgiving Day. The versatile sixth-year pro has at least four catches in three of his past four games, giving him some momentum heading into a critical Week 14 divisional home clash against the Jets a week from Sunday.

McKenzie caught six of 10 targets for 96 yards and a touchdown in Thursday's 28-25 win over the Lions.
Analysis: The slot receiver led the Bills in receiving yards in the Thanksgiving Day victory, opening the scoring for his club with a 19-yard TD grab late in the first quarter. The 96 yards and 10 targets were season highs for McKenzie, while the touchdown was his first since Week 4 and his fourth of the year. Recovers from illness
McKenzie (illness) was a full participant on Friday's practice estimate and doesn't carry an injury designation into Sunday's game against the Browns.
Analysis: The Bills weren't able to hold practice Friday due to heavy snow in Buffalo, but McKenzie would have been available had they practiced. Friday's injury report will clarify whether McKenzie approaches Sunday's game against the Steelers with an injury designation or fully cleared for Week 5 action. Returns to practice field
McKenzie (concussion) participated in Thursday's practice in a red non-contact jersey, Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: McKenzie was listed as a non-participant Wednesday, but his presence on the field Thursday gives him a chance to suit up Sunday against the Steelers. To do so, however, McKenzie will need to pass all five stages of the NFL's concussion protocol. Given that he sported a non-contact jersey in his return to practice, it's safe to assume McKenzie has a few steps left to clear.

McKenzie (concussion) didn't practice Wednesday, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports.
Analysis: With McKenzie in the NFL's concussion protocol, his status for Sunday's game against the Steelers is unclear at this stage. Given that Jamison Crowder is sidelined by an ankle injury, Khalil Shakir could see an uptick in snaps this weekend if McKenzie is also unavailable versus Pittsburgh.

McKenzie remains in the NFL's concussion protocol as of Wednesday, Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: McKenzie was expected to be ready to practice in a limited fashion Wednesday, but Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic notes that the receiver didn't participate in the media-access portion of the session. Lands in concussion protocol
McKenzie was placed in concussion protocols following Sunday's win over the Ravens, Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Prior to leaving Sunday's game, McKenzie caught four of six targets for 21 yards and a touchdown. Jamison Crowder (ankle) is expected to be placed on IR, so if McKenzie can't clear protocols ahead of Week 5, rookie Khalil Shakir would be a prime candidate for increased snaps behind Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis.

McKenzie is being evaluated for a head injury during Sunday's game against the Ravens.

Stands out as receiver
McKenzie secured seven of nine targets for 76 yards and a touchdown and rushed once for six yards in the Bills' 21-19 loss to the Dolphins on Sunday.
Analysis: McKenzie was one of several Bills players to exit the game at one point due to heat-related issues, but he returned and made a catch in what turned out to be Buffalo's final play before time ran out, a play where if he had managed to get out of bounds the Bills may have had a chance for a long field goal to win it. McKenzie had just a pair of receptions apiece in the first two games, but he tied Stefon Diggs (lower body cramps) for second in catches on the afternoon. The versatile veteran could…read more

McKenzie has returned to Sunday's game against the Dolphins, Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com reports.

Only two catches in Week 2
McKenzie caught two of three targets for 37 yards in Monday's 41-7 win over Tennessee.
Analysis: McKenzie had a limited impact despite being the nominal No. 2 wide receiver with Gabe Davis (ankle) sidelined. Tennessee rarely took away Josh Allen's first read, as Stefon Diggs piled up 12 catches for 148 yards and three touchdowns. McKenzie's inconsistent role will make him tough to trust on a weekly basis, though he'll likely sprinkle in a few big games while catching passes from one of the league's most prolific passers.

Finds end zone in opener
McKenzie brought in two of three targets for 19 yards and a touchdown in the Bills' 31-10 win over the Rams on Thursday night.
Analysis: McKenzie didn't log any rush attempts and appeared to operate as the No. 4 receiver, but he made good use of his scant opportunities with a seven-yard touchdown grab midway through the third quarter. Analysis: McKenzie has been "nicked up," per head coach Sean McDermott, but he returned to practice Sunday and appears in line to play Thursday. McKenzie (undisclosed) will return to practice Sunday, Jay Skurski of The Buffalo News reports.
Analysis: Coach Sean McDermott says his slot receiver has been "nicked up," so while he's not out of the woods yet, this bodes well for his chances of playing in Thursday's season-opening game against the Rams. Week 1 status TBD
When asked if McKenzie, who left practice early Saturday with an undisclosed injury, would be available for Week 1 action, GM Brandon Beane noted Thursday "we'll see," Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: The report relays that Beane added that McKenzie figures to push play in the contest, but the wide receiver's status is nonetheless something to monitor leading up the Bills' season opener against the Rams on Sept. 8. If McKenzie ends up limited or out in the contest, Jamison Crowder would be in line to see added reps in the slot for the team alongside top wideouts Stefon Diggs and Gabriel Davis.

Analysis: Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic reports McKenzie left practice early Saturday. It doesn't sound serious, but with Week 1 approaching he'll be on a tighter schedule now. Favorite to claim top slot role
Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic views McKenzie as "the strong favorite" to be the Bills' top slot receiver to start the coming season.
Analysis: McKenzie, who has had a strong training camp, was among the team's key skill players who didn't play in Saturday's preseason opener against the Colts. Though veteran newcomer Jamison Crowder still could push for an early season slot role with Buffalo, at this stage McKenzie appears poised to be a key cog in the team's Week 1 passing attack, which is line to feature top wideouts Stefon Diggs and Gabriel Davis.

Impressive showing in training camp
McKenzie's growth as a route runner has stood out during Buffalo's first four training camp practices while he sees extra reps in place of injured veteran wideout Jamison Crowder (undisclosed), Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: McKenzie saw limited opportunities as the Bills' fifth-leading receiver last year, hauling in 20 of 26 targets for 178 yards and one score over 15 regular-season games. However, his production included a breakout Week 16 game against the Patriots in which the 5-foot-8 wideout caught 11 passes for 125 yards and his lone touchdown of the campaign. Analysis: McKenzie was scheduled to hit free agency but instead will stick with the Bills after posting 20 catches for 178 yards and one touchdown to go along with nine carries for 47 yards and another score last season. The 26-year-old primarily worked as a return man and averaged 24.3 yards per kick return and 7.7 yards per punt return in 2021. McKenzie recorded one reception for a three-yard gain and carried three times for 15 yards across his 16 snaps on offense in Sunday's 42-36 overtime loss to the Chiefs in the divisional round.
Analysis: After busting out for 11 catches and 124 yards from scrimmage in the Bills' Week 16 win over the Patriots while both Gabriel Davis and Cole Beasley were out of the lineup, McKenzie predictably saw his snap counts and targets trend downward in the games that followed. Analysis: Just as a welcome door opened for McKenzie in Week 16 due to the absences of Cole Beasley and Gabriel Davis, allowing him to post an 11-125-1 line, it shut just as quickly when his two teammates returned from the COVID-19 protocols to play this week against Atlanta. Likely looking at decreased role
McKenzie could be in line to see decreased work on offense with Cole Beasley and Gabriel Davis both back from the reserve/COVID-19 list, Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Even though Emmanuel Sanders is inactive Sunday with a knee injury, there are still three healthy wideouts presumably ahead of McKenzie on the depth chart, so there's a risk he's relegated back to return duties despite an outstanding effort in Week 16. Analysis: Gabriel Davis (illness) will also miss the contest, while Emmanuel Sanders is returning from a one-week absence due to a knee injury. McKenzie was impressive in a limited role last season with a 30-282-5 receiving line on 34 targets, but he's been much quieter this year with just 11 targets and 38 receiving yards in 12 games, limiting the fantasy appeal in a difficult matchup with New England. After going up 3-0, Buffalo forced a punt on Pittsburgh's first possession, which resulted in a McKenzie fair catch. Still hurting
McKenzie, who remains out after suffering a shoulder injury Tuesday, is in-between day-to-day and week-to-week in terms of when he'll return, coach Sean McDermott told Maddy Glab of the Bills' official site.
Analysis: McKenzie also picked up a fine this week for reportedly not wearing his mask in designated areas around the team, so it's been a rough stretch for the Bills' key utility guy. While McKenzie's status is iffy for the team's preseason finale Saturday, he does have two-plus weeks to heal up for the opener against Pittsburgh. He's generally been an effective role player in his two and a half seasons with the team, catching 75 of 103 targets (72.8 percent) for 744 yards and six touchdowns, plus 28-124-2 on the ground. Analysis: McKenzie was also limited in Tuesday's walk-through session, but at this stage, there's little reason to doubt his availability for Saturday's wild-card round game against the Colts. Notches third touchdown of season
McKenzie secured both of his targets for 31 yards and a touchdown in the Bills' 34-24 win over the 49ers on Monday night.
Analysis: He threw a touchdown pass to Josh Allen on a trick play in Week 10 against the Cardinals, but Monday night, Allen returned the favor with a 23-yard scoring toss to McKenzie in the latter stages of the third quarter. The fourth-year wideout will continue to be used on a handful of offensive snaps per game, particularly while John Brown (ankle) remains on injured reserve, making him much more of a deep-league option and salary-saving punt play in daily formats.

Analysis: The speedster is far down in the pecking order and hasn't even served as a return man since the Bills added Andre Roberts to the fold last season. The Bills are also employing less jet sweeps this year, which was McKenzie's specialty in 2019 -- he's only rushed five times for five yards in 2020 and the team seems more comfortable letting Josh Allen or rookie Zack Moss try to take it in from up close lately. McKenzie (ankle) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice.
Analysis: McKenzie appears to have picked up an ankle injury during Sunday's win over the Jets, in which he caught both his targets for 14 yards and lost 11 yards on his only carry. There's not yet any reason to be overly concerned about the depth wideout's Week 8 status.

Scores in Tuesday night action
McKenzie secured all four of his targets for only seven yards and a touchdown in Tuesday night's loss to the Titans.
Analysis: The pass probably traveled about three inches, as McKenzie scored on one of his patented jet sweeps. He's a clear sixth or seventh option in the passing game, though he did see a few extra looks Tuesday with John Brown out due to a knee injury. McKenzie remains a fantasy non-factor even with the occasional score, though we imagine he helped a few Brown owners in need of an emergency pickup Tuesday night due to the latter's late scratch.

Full speed ahead
McKenzie (hamstring) will be ready for Sunday's game versus the Dolphins, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports.
Analysis: McKenzie upgraded to full participation in Friday's practice, so he's ready to rock in Week 2. The 25-year-old wideout reeled in all three targets for 17 yards in Week 1, but he played just 16 offensive snaps, so his upside is capped at this time.

Minor hamstring issue
McKenzie (hamstring) practiced on a limited basis Thursday, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports.
Analysis: McKenzie practiced fully Wednesday, so this seems like something he either tweaked during that session or is something minor enough that he just needs to take it more easy than usual ahead of Sunday's divisional tilt against Miami. The utility player doesn't appear in jeopardy of suiting up this week.

Low output in Week 1
McKenzie caught all three of his targets for 17 yards during Sunday's 27-17 win over the Jets.
Analysis: McKenzie is more of a gadget player with a vast toolbox versus anything that can be used for fantasy value, and in this one he was only on the field for 18 percent of the offensive snaps, compared to 63 percent for No. 3 receiver Cole Beasley and 49 percent for rookie Gabriel Davis. The one bit of good news is that McKenzie was seen out there in some red-zone packages, and at some point the jet sweeper should see some opportunities in close as opponents start to focus on the effective legs of…read more

Makes roster again
McKenzie survived the Bills' roster cutdown Saturday and looks to begin the season as the team's No. 5 wide receiver.
Analysis: McKenzie eked out Duke Williams and a few others, his biggest assets being he's a good special teams player and that he can run jet sweeps -- a play the Buffalo offense sometimes uses multiple times in the same game -- as good as just about anyone in the league. That said, his upside is about 30 catches for a team with a pretty talented receiving corps led by Stefon Diggs, John Brown and Cole Beasley.

Stays with Buffalo
McKenzie re-signed with the Bills on Tuesday, Jay Skurski of The Buffalo News reports.
Analysis: McKenzie served as Buffalo's No. 3 wide receiver for parts of last season, but he'll be no higher than No. 4 after the team traded for Stefon Diggs. With John Brown and Cole Beasley locking down spots as well, McKenzie will be left to compete against Duke Williams, Robert Foster and Andre Roberts for depth jobs.

Set for free agency
The Bills won't tender McKenzie, making him an unrestricted free agent, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: McKenzie suited up in a variety of roles for the Bills in the last campaign, playing 482 total snaps, as he accumulated 254 yards receiving and 49 yards rushing. Considering the team could've slapped just a fifth-round tender on the receiver and failed to do so, it's likely that McKenzie will be looking for a new home this offseason. Regardless of which team elects to sign the Georgia product, he'll likely assume a depth receiving role, at best, in 2020.

Future uncertain
McKenzie is the Bills' only restricted free agent this offseason.
Analysis: McKenzie played in 15 games in 2019 and served a variety of roles, finishing with 27 receptions for 254 yards and one touchdown while rushing eight times for 49 yards as an effective jet sweeper. The speedster also served on special teams. As a restricted free agent, the Bills can slap a tender offer on McKenzie -- one that won't be very expensive -- but are also facing an offseason dilemma of trying to beef up the receiving staff in an attempt to continue Josh Allen's progress. We'll see if…read more

Opportunity knocks
With John Brown and Cole Beasley inactive, McKenzie is in line for added action Sunday against the Jets.
Analysis: With the Bills' playoff seeding set, the team rested several key players Sunday, which sets the stage for Buffalo's Week 17 wideout duties to be handled by McKenzie, Robert Foster and Duke Williams.

Goes without a target
McKenzie did not receive a target in Sunday's 17-10 win over the Steelers.
Analysis: McKenzie was uninvolved on a night where Josh Allen only threw 25 times, with 10 of his targets going to John Brown. McKenzie, a third-year receiver, has only 23 catches for 236 yards this season.

Catches three passes
McKenzie caught all three of his targets for 34 yards during Thursday's win over the Cowboys.
Analysis: The three catches tied a season high, while the 34 yards represents his highest total since Week 5. The 24-year-old actually saw a diminished share of snaps Thursday, as he and Robert Foster essentially rotated duties as the No. 3 wideout, per Sal Capaccio of WGR Sports Radio 550 Buffalo. McKenzie's fantasy prospects were already minimal and splitting time with Foster only moves him further from fantasy relevance.

Biggest play count to date
McKenzie caught three of six targets for 21 yards during Sunday's win over Miami.
Analysis: The crafty speedster was on the field for a season-high 78 percent of the offensive snaps, and for all intents and purposes, he's settled in as the No. 3 receiver right now. That said, the offense runs through John Brown, Devin Singletary and Dawson Knox, so there's not much room for McKenzie to do much more than contribute the occasional change-of-pace touch. McKenzie at least seems to have pushed himself ahead of Duke Williams, Robert Foster and Andre Roberts in the pecking order at receiver.

Chosen over Duke Williams
McKenzie suited up for the second straight week Sunday against the Browns, bringing in two of four targets for 19 yards while seeing action on 54 percent of the team's offensive plays.
Analysis: McKenzie and Robert Foster were made active for the second straight week while Duke Williams was a healthy inactive, a situation that could remain fluid for the rest of the season. McKenzie is the team's best jet-sweep option, something the Bills have incorporated into their offense for much more than an occasional change-up play. The problem is, McKenzie is often the decoy on these plays and has no more than four touches in a game all season. He was also used more as a return man last season,…read more

Returns to active roster
McKenzie is back on the active roster Week 9 against Washington.
Analysis: It's essentially been a rotation between McKenzie, Robert Foster and Duke Williams on the active roster over the last few weeks. McKenzie and Foster will get the call in Week 9, with Williams representing a healthy scratch. McKenzie saw a season-high 21 snaps back in Week 7 when he was last active, which he turned into two receptions for 11 yards.
