Lewis (elbow) is active for Sunday night's matchup with the Buccaneers, Todd Archer of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: The slot cornerback practiced in a limited capacity throughout the week after suffering the injury last Sunday against the Panthers. Lewis has played on more than 80 percent of the defensive snaps in each of the last seven games in which he's played. He has 55 tackles (31 solo), including 1.0 sacks, five passes defensed, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery on the year.

Questionable to face Tampa Bay
Lewis (elbow) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Bucs, Ralph Vacchiano of Fox Sports reports.
Analysis: Lewis got in a round of limited practices this week after he was injured in last Sunday's win over the Panthers. With Trevon Diggs (knee) already ruled out, the Cowboys would need more out of Amani Oruwariye and Andrew Booth if Lewis were to miss Week 16.

Limited in Wednesday's walkthrough
Lewis (elbow) was a limited participant in Wednesday's walkthrough, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Lewis suffered an elbow injury in the second half of the Cowboys' Week 15 win over the Panthers. He'll have two more opportunities to increase his practice participation ahead of Sunday's game against Tampa Bay. Over his last four games, Lewis has logged 19 tackles (10 solo), including 1.0 sacks, two pass defenses and one forced fumble.

Exits with injury Sunday
Lewis is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Panthers due to an elbow injury, Calvin Watkins of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Analysis: Lewis logged three tackles, including a sack, before exiting during the second half. The 29-year-old has served as Dallas' top slot corner this season, totaling 52 tackles and four passes defended across 12 appearances coming into Week 15. With the game almost over, it's likely that Kemon Hall will step in at slot corner for the remainder of the fourth quarter.

Lewis (hamstring) is active for Sunday's matchup with the Panthers.
Analysis: The slot cornerback was listed as questionable after logging limited practice sessions all week, but he appears good to go. Lewis has been on the field for more than 80 percent of the defensive snaps in each of the last six games in which he's played. Questionable for Week 15
Lewis (hamstring) is listed as questionable ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Panthers, Patrik Walker of the Cowboys' official site reports.
Analysis: Lewis logged three consecutive limited practice sessions due to a hamstring injury following the Cowboys' Week 14 loss to the Bengals, putting his Week 15 status in doubt. The Michigan product has appeared in 12 games for Dallas this season, recording 52 total tackles and four passes defended. If he's unable to suit up Sunday, Kemon Hall will likely serve as the Cowboys' top slot corner.

Limited by hamstring issue
Lewis was listed as a limited participant in Wednesday's practice walkthrough due to a hamstring injury, Adam Caplan of SiriusXM NFL Radio reports.
Analysis: It's not clear when Lewis picked up the hamstring issue, as he played 100 percent of Dallas' defensive snaps in Monday's loss to the Bengals. The Cowboys held a walkthrough Wednesday, so Lewis' level of participation when Dallas holds regular practices this week should better clarify whether he's in danger of missing Sunday's game against the Panthers.

Ready to rock
Lewis (neck) has no injury designation ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Commanders, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Lewis opened the Cowboys' week of practice with consecutive limited sessions due to a neck injury, but he upgraded to full participation Friday, suggesting that he's moved past the issue in time for Sunday's divisional matchup. With Lewis back at full health, he's expected to serve as Dallas' top slot corner in Week 12.

Estimated as limited Wednesday
Lewis (neck) was listed as a limited practice participant on Wednesday's estimated injury report, Adam Caplan of SiriusXM NFL Radio reports.
Analysis: Lewis was sidelined for the Cowboys' loss to the Texans this past Monday due to a neck injury. He wasn't able to practice last week due to the injury, and even though Wednesday's report is an estimation, his ability to participate in the walkthrough in a limited capacity indicates he is progressing through the issue. Lewis' practice participation over the next two days will indicate whether he'll return from a one-game absence against the Commanders on Sunday.

Sidelined for Week 11
Lewis (neck) didn't practice Friday and has been ruled out for Monday's game against Houston, Adam Caplan of SiriusXM NFL Radio reports.
Analysis: Lewis has been sidelined from practice all week due to a neck injury he likely picked up during the Cowboys' Week 10 loss to the Eagles. He'll shift his focus to returning to practice ahead of Dallas' Week 12 clash against Washington on Sunday, Nov. 24. C.J. Dealing with neck injury
Lewis (neck) did not practice Thursday, Adam Caplan of SiriusXM NFL Radio reports.
Analysis: Lewis logged four tackles (two solo) during the Cowboys' Week 10 loss to the Eagles, but it appears he may have picked up a neck injury in the process. The 2017 third-round pick will have two more chances to practice ahead of Monday's game against the Texans. In the three regular-season games since the Cowboys' Week 7 bye, Lewis has logged 17 tackles (nine solo).

Lewis re-signed with the Cowboys on a one-year contract Thursday, Michael Gehlken of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Analysis: Lewis officially became a free agent Wednesday, but it took less than 24 hours for the Michigan product to re-up with his old team. Selected in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft, Lewis has spent all seven seasons of his career with Dallas and is now set to remain with the Cowboys for at least an eighth season. Free agency ahead
Lewis recorded 52 tackles (36 solo), five pass breakups, one interception, three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries across 16 regular-season games with the Cowboys in 2023.
Analysis: Lewis missed Week 1 after sitting out all of training camp and the preseason while recovering from a Lisfranc injury, but he then appeared in all remaining 16 regular-season games for Dallas, operating as the backup to DaRon Bland and Stephon Gilmore. Now a pending unrestricted free agent, Lewis will likely have to search for a similar backup role elsewhere in the league.

Lewis finished with six tackles (three solo) and an interception in Saturday's 20-19 win over the Lions.
Analysis: Lewis got his first interception of the year at the beginning of the second quarter on a Jared Goff pass intended for David Montgomery. He now joins DaRon Bland, Stephon Gilmore and Trevon Diggs as the Dallas corners with an INT this season. Lewis was activated from the PUP list Tuesday, Patrik Walker of the Cowboys' website reports.
Analysis: The veteran cornerback will be on the roster for Week 1, but it's not yet clear just how close Lewis is to being ready for game action after missing all of training camp and the preseason while completing his recovery from a Lisfranc injury. Once he's able to suit up, he'll primarily compete with DaRon Bland for snaps as the slot cornerback.

Could be ready to return
Lewis (foot) might avoid the PUP list to begin the regular season, Michael Gehlken of the Dallas Morning News reports.
Analysis: The slot cornerback suffered a Lisfranc injury in Week 7 last year and missed the rest of the season, but he's made good progress in his recovery and appears ready to begin practicing. If Lewis does end up on the PUP list when Dallas sets its initial 53-man roster, he would be required to miss the first four games of the season. Lewis (foot) was placed on the active/PUP list Tuesday.
Analysis: Lewis closed the 2022 season on IR due to a Lisfranc injury, and it was reported in June by Todd Archer of ESPN.com that he would begin camp on the PUP list, although he had already begun running. So, the move doesn't come as a surprise. He'll be able to compete once he passes a physical.

Will be placed on PUP list
Cowboys CEO Stephen Jones said Monday that Lewis will open training camp on the PUP list, Todd Archer of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Lewis ended 2022 on injured reserve with a Lisfranc injury and has been trying to get back to full strength this offseason, but it sounds like he's still got a ways to go. If the cornerback is still on the PUP list at the end of training camp, he'll be forced to miss at least the first four games of the regular season.

Lewis (foot) is out for the remainder of the season after undergoing surgery Sunday, David Moore of the Dallas Morning News reports.
Analysis: Lewis suffered a foot injury against the Lions that required a procedure after the contest. He'll finish his campaign with 26 tackles, including a sack, plus an interception over six games. In the 27-year-old's absence, rookie Daron Bland will likely step into a larger role.

Undergoes foot surgery
Lewis underwent foot surgery Sunday night, Todd Archer of ESPN.com reports.

Lewis didn't return to Sunday's win over Detroit due to a right foot injury, Michael Gehlken of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Analysis: Lewis had to be helped off the field in the second half of Sunday's matchup, and he was later carted to the locker room. He began the game with three tackles (two solo) and an interception, and it's not yet clear whether he'll be available for next week's matchup against Chicago.

Deemed questionable for Sunday
Lewis (groin) is questionable for Sunday's matchup against the Rams, Patrik Walker of the team's official site reports.
Analysis: Lewis injured his hamstring during pregame warmups ahead of Week 4 and was unable to play in the contest. He remained sidelined for Wednesday's practice but logged back-to-back limited sessions Thursday and Friday, giving himself a chance to suit up in Week 5. However, if Lewis is ruled out, look for rookie fifth-round pick Daron Bland to operate as Dallas' nickel cornerback for a second consecutive contest.

As a result, rookie cornerback Daron Bland saw his first defensive action of the season, recording three tackles and an interception over 58 defensive snaps. Lewis made sevens solo tackles and one pass breakup during Monday's 23-16 win over the Giants.

No injury designation for Week 1
Lewis (hamstring) doesn't carry an injury designation for Sunday's matchup against the Buccaneers, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports.

Won't practice this week
Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy said Lewis won't return to practice this week after suffering a hamstring injury Wednesday, per the team's official site.
Analysis: McCarthy added that it's too early to tell just how long Lewis will be out this preseason, but that the team's "immediate goal is to get him ready for Week 1." Reinstated from COVID list
Lewis returned to practice Thursday and has been removed from the reserve/COVID-19 list, Michael Gehlken of the Dallas Morning News reports.

Lewis re-signed Wednesday with the Cowboys on a three-year contract worth up to $16.5 million, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Analysis: Lewis tested free agency for the first time in his career and ultimately decided to return to Dallas. The 25-year-old cornerback started 13 games for the Cowboys in 2020, recording a career-high 59 tackles (40 solo) in addition to two sacks, two pass breakups and a fumble recovery. Another solid campaign
Lewis recorded a career-high 59 tackles (40 solo) and added two sacks, two passes defended and one fumble recovery in 15 games during 2020.
Analysis: An ankle injury kept him on the sidelines Week 1, but otherwise Lewis was able to provide some stability for a poor Dallas secondary. The fourth-year corner has topped 50 tackles three times and collected six sacks over the last two seasons, giving him some IDP utility in deep formats, but with a new defensive coordinator coming aboard in Dan Quinn, it's not clear whether the Cowboys will make re-signing the unrestricted free agent a priority this offseason.

Lewis (ankle) practiced in full Wednesday, so he's over his ankle injury, David Helman of the Cowboys' official site reports.

Analysis: Lewis hasn't been able to practice since suffering an ankle injury Aug. 20, so he'll be forced to sit out Week 1. Although Lewis wasn't expected to be a starter, it's a major hit to the team's secondary that is expected to start Trevon Diggs on Sunday. Lewis (ankle) was spotted Sunday wearing a walking boot on his left foot, Calvin Watkins of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Needs another week
Head coach Mike McCarthy said Lewis (ankle) isn't expected to practice this week, Rob Phillips of the Cowboys' official site reports.
Analysis: Lewis twisted his ankle Thursday and will need a bit of time before getting back in action. An ankle twist isn't typically worrisome, but Lewis' timetable is cause for concern with just three weeks from the season opener. The soon-to-be 25-year-old cornerback averaged 37.5 defensive snaps per game in 2019 and is poised for a similar, if not increased, workload once he's healthy.

Career-high four sacks in 2019
Lewis wrapped up the 2019 season with 51 tackles (38 solo) including four sacks, two interceptions on six passes defended and a fumble return for a touchdown.
Analysis: The third-year corner solidified his spot as the Cowboys' top slot option, recording career highs in sacks and INTs as well as his first visit to the end zone. His 73.8 QB rating allowed on 47 pass attempts in his direction wasn't bad either, and with Byron Jones headed to free agency in the offseason, Lewis could become a key figure in the Dallas secondary in 2020.

Two sacks versus Bills
Lewis notched six tackles (four solo), two sacks and one defended pass during Thursday's 26-15 loss to the Bills.

Caps win with first career TD
Lewis scooped up a Daniel Jones fumble and returned it 63 yards for a touchdown in Monday's win over the Giants.
Analysis: The score was the first of Lewis' career, and he also added a season-high six tackles to his ledger for the night. The third-year player remains behind Byron Jones and Chidobe Awuzie on the depth chart, limiting his IDP upside, but Lewis is having a strong season as a slot corner/nickelback, recording 19 tackles with a sack and an INT through eight games while allowing a paltry 38.0 QB rating on eight attempts in his direction.
