Avoids injury report
McLeod (head) was left off Wednesday's injury report, Daniel Oyefusi of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: McLeod suffered a face laceration in the Browns' Week 5 loss to the Commanders, but it appears he's already past the issue. Expect the Virginia product to continue serving as one of Cleveland's top reserve safeties now that he's recovered from his face laceration.

Suffers face laceration Sunday
McLeod is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Commanders due to a face laceration, Chris Easterling of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
Analysis: McLeod recorded two tackles, including one for loss, and a pass defense before exiting the contest. If he's unable to return, D'Anthony Bell would be a candidate for increased defensive snaps.

Scores on fumble return
McLeod recorded two tackles and scored on a fumble return in a 20-16 loss to the Raiders in Week 4.
Analysis: McLeod scooped up a Zamir White fumble and brought it back 25 yards to bring the Browns within one score early in the fourth quarter. The 34-year-old safety is a depth piece in Cleveland's secondary and a regular on special teams, though he's seen action on 40 percent or more of the defensive snaps in each of the last three games.

Retiring after 2024 season
McLeod (biceps) said Tuesday he plans to retire after the 2024 season, Daniel Oyefusi of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: McLeod is presumably healthy after a biceps injury limited him to 10 appearances (five starts) in 2023. He signed a one-year deal back in March to return to Cleveland for a second season. The soon-to-be 34-year-old will likely serve as a depth option in the secondary while also handling a role on special teams.

Headed for Cleveland
McLeod has agreed to terms with the Browns, Jake Trotter of ESPN reports.
Analysis: McLeod spent the 2022 season with the Colts, where he posted career highs with 96 tackles and eight passes defended. Per Trotter, the 32-year-old projects to fill a key backup role in the Browns secondary behind expected starting safeties Grant Delpit and Juan Thornhill. McLeod, who has the versatility to play either strong or free safety, previously played under new Browns defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz while the two were in Philadelphia.

Posts career highs in 2022
Over 17 appearances, McLeod logged 96 tackles (59 solo) and eight passes defended, including two interceptions, as well as a fumble recovery during the 2022 campaign.
Analysis: McLeod emerged into a starting role three games into his first year with the Colts. The 32-year-old safety, who spent the previous six seasons with Philadelphia, also appeared in every regular-season contest for the first time since the 2019 campaign. As a result, he posted career highs in tackles and passes defended to go along with the third pick-six of his career. McLeod played on a one-year, $1.77 million contract with Indianapolis this season, so he's now set to become an unrestricted free…read more

Moves into starting role
McLeod started at strong safety and had five total tackles, two passes defensed and an interception in Sunday's win over Kansas City.
Analysis: McLeod played on all 59 of the defense's snaps as he got increased playing time with rookie Nick Cross moving back to the bench (just one snap on defense). It looks like McLeod has a starting role and should continue to get plenty of snaps with Julian Blackmon possibly missing time with a sprained ankle.

Mostly limited to special teams
McLeod did not record a tackle and played just two snaps on defense in Sunday's tie at Houston.
Analysis: McLeod also logged 18 snaps on special teams. It was somewhat surprising that McLeod was mostly limited to special teams, as it was thought he'd initially get some time in place of rookie Nick Cross at strong safety. It looks like the Colts are confident in Cross or don't plan to utilize many three-safety sets.

All set for training camp
McLeod (undisclosed) was removed from the active/PUP list and returned to the active roster Wednesday.
Analysis: McLeod was put on the PUP list Sunday with an undisclosed injury, but he will now be active for the beginning of training camp Wednesday, suggesting that whatever was ailing him was minor. The 32-year-old is set to be the Colts' starting free safety this season after signing with the organization in April. McLeod compiled 58 tackles, four pass deflections and two interceptions over 13 games with the Eagles last season and he figures to be a leader in the secondary for Indianapolis this year.

Dealing with undisclosed injury
The Colts placed McLeod (undisclosed) on the active/PUP list Sunday, Chris Widlic of CBS4Indy reports.
Analysis: McLeod signed a contract with the Colts at the beginning of April following three seasons with the Eagles. The extent of his injury remains unknown, but he's eligible to return at any point before the initial 53-man roster deadline. When available, he figures to play a key role in Indianapolis' secondary.

Headed to Indianapolis
McLeod signed a contract with the Colts on Friday, Aaron Wilson of ProFootballNetwork.com reports.
Analysis: Over his last three seasons with the Eagles, McLeod registered 200 tackles, five interceptions, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries across 42 appearances. He'll likely fall behind Khari Willis and Julian Blackmon on the depth chart in Indianapolis, but McLeod should have a good chance at winning the slot role during training camp.

Clears COVID protocols
McLeod was activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list Monday.
Analysis: McLeod spent a week in COVID protocols and was forced to miss the Eagles' Week 18 game with the Cowboys. Now healthy, McLeod should get the start at strong safety against the Buccaneers.

Placed on COVID list
McLeod was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list Monday after testing positive for the virus, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: McLeod had five tackles (three solo) and an interception during Sunday's win over Washington but will start the prep for Week 18 on the COVID list. He can still clear the NFL protocols in time to play Saturday against the Cowboys, though it would be a quick turnaround.

Full practice Thursday
McLeod was a full-go at Thursday's practice.
Analysis: The 31-year-old suffered a neck injury in Week 9 against the Chargers but it appears to have been a minor issue. Since returning from a knee injury Oct. 1, McLeod has racked up 32 tackles and a pass deflection in six games.

No practice Wednesday
McLeod didn't participate at Wednesday's practice due to a neck injury, Tim McManus of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: McLeod apparently picked up the injury during Sunday's loss to the Chargers, where he played 93 percent of the defensive snaps and totaled eight tackles. The 31-year-old may need to practice fully by Friday to avoid an injury designation for this weekend.

Set to make season debut
McLeod (knee) will suit up for Sunday's game against the Chiefs, according to coach Nick Sirianni, Tim McManus of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: McLeod missed the first three games of the season while recovering from a torn ACL he suffered last season, but he'll finally make his season debut in Week 4. Per Sirianni, the 31-year-old safety will have a role in the game plan against the high-powered Chiefs passing attack, though it would be understandable if the team puts a cap on McLeod's reps coming off an extended absence.

Full participant in walkthrough
McLeod (knee) was listed as a full participant in Wednesday's walkthrough practice.
Analysis: McLeod has yet to make his season debut, as he's continuing to heal from the torn ACL he injured last season. Although the safety logged full participation in what was a walkthrough practice Wednesday, McLeod may still need more time to recover. If McLeod can't play against the Chiefs on Sunday, expect K'Von Wallace to continue to start at strong safety.

Absence stretches to three games
McLeod (knee) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Cowboys, Dave Zangoro of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.
Analysis: McLeod will miss a third consecutive game as he continues his recovery from a torn ACL suffered last season. K'Von Wallace will continue to start at strong safety in McLeod's absence.

Won't play Week 2
McLeod (knee) is officially out for Sunday's contest against the 49ers, Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
Analysis: McLeod was activated off the PUP list before the 53-man roster deadline, but he wasn't available for Week 1. The Eagles appear content on easing their starting safety back into game action after he suffered a torn ACL last season. K'Von Wallace played 63 snaps in McLeod's absence in the season opener and will likely see a similar workload in Week 2.

Limited practice Wednesday
McLeod (knee) logged a limited practice Wednesday.
Analysis: McLeod spent much of training camp on the PUP list with the knee injury. Though he logged a limited practice prior to the team's Week 1 contest, he was unable to get in enough work to be game ready. It remains to be seen if he can ramp up his practice participation as the week goes on to be prepared for a Week 2 matchup against the 49ers.

Won't play Week 1
McLeod (knee) is officially listed as out for Sunday's contest against the Falcons, Zach Berman of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: McLeod was activated off of the PUP list before the 53-man roster deadline, which gave Philly optimism that he would be available for Week 1. However, the Eagles will elect to be cautious and won't rush their starting safety back from his torn ACL. K'Von Wallace and Marcus Epps are the most likely candidates to fill in for McLeod.

Limited participant in practice
McLeod (knee) was listed as a limited participant on the Eagles' injury report Wednesday.
Analysis: McLeod's status for Week 1 still seems to be up in the air. The veteran is trying to return in time for the Week 1 opener against Atlanta but it's possible McLeod will need to wait until Week 2 to make his 2021 debut. If McLeod is unable to play, expect K'Von Wallace to see plenty of snaps Sunday.

Ready for Week 1
McLeod (knee) was activated from the active/PUP list Monday, Zach Berman of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: The 10-year veteran played in 13 games for the Eagles last season, totaling 66 tackles and one interception before tearing his ACL against the Saints, ending his 2020 season. McLeod is a solid piece of the Eagles secondary and appears to be on track to be the starter in Week 1.

Placed on PUP list
The Eagles placed McLeod (knee) on the PUP list Wednesday.
Analysis: McLeod will sit out the start of training camp as he continues to work his way back from an ACL tear suffered last December. The starting safety has said that his goal is to return in time for Week 1 of the 2021 season.

Targeting Week 1
McLeod (knee) said Wednesday that his goal is to be ready for Week 1, Dave Zangaro of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.
Analysis: McLeod is recovering from an ACL tear suffered back in December, so returning to the field by Week 1 will hinge on him avoiding any setbacks in his recovery from surgery. The safety had 66 tackles, seven pass breakups and a pick-six in 13 games last season.

Placed on IR
McLeod (knee) was placed on IR on Wednesday.
Analysis: This move was just a formality, with Ward having already been ruled out for the season due to the torn ACL he suffered in last week's win over the Saints. The move opened up a roster spot, which the Eagles used to promote Elijah Riley from the practice squad. Riley should add depth in the secondary, though Marcus Epps and K'Von Wallace are more likely to inherit the snaps vacated by Ward's injury.

Ruled out for season
McLeod tore his ACL in Sunday's win over the Saints and is done for the season, Daniel Gallen of The Harrisburg Patriot-News reports.
Analysis: McLeod will undergo surgery and be placed on IR in the near future. His 2020 season will finish with 66 tackles, seven pass breakups and a pick-six through 13 games. Marcus Epps and K'Von Wallace are candidates to fill in as the Eagles' starting free safety.

Leaves game with injury
McLeod (knee) will not return to Sunday's game against the Saints, Amie Just of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
Analysis: McLeod is one of three members of Philadelphia's secondary to be forced out of Sunday's game, alongside Darius Slay (concussion) and Avonte Maddox (knee). The Eagles already have Cre'von LeBlanc (ankle) and Craig James (shoulder) on IR.

Over hamstring injury
McLeod (hamstring) does not carry an injury designation for Sunday's game in Pittsburgh.
Analysis: McLeod managed to handle full practice reps Friday after having been limited in back-to-back sessions to begin the week. The starting safety has played every defensive snap for Philadelphia through four contests, and he looks on track to handle his usual workload versus the Steelers.

Upgrades to limited practice
McLeod (hamstring) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice.
Analysis: McLeod wasn't able to log any practice reps Wednesday, so it's encouraging to now see him working on at least a restricted basis. It looks as though McLeod, who hasn't yet missed a defensive snap this season, has at least a shot to suit up in Pittsburgh on Sunday.

Dealing with injury
McLeod (hamsting) was a non-participant during Wednesday's practice.
Analysis: It's unclear when McLeod suffered the injury, as he racked up nine tackles (eight solo) and an interception across 73 snaps in last Sunday's win. If the Virginia product is forced to miss Week 5, K'Von Wallace would appear in line to draw the start at free safety.

Eight stops in loss
McLeod made eight tackles (two assisted) in Sunday's 27-17 loss to Washington.
Analysis: McLeod is the Eagles' most experienced option at safety and has put up between 72 and 83 tackles in each of the last five seasons in which he's played all 16 games. However, with Malcolm Jenkins gone, the 30-year-old has an opportunity to shatter his career marks across the board.

Staying with Philly
McLeod is re-signing with the Eagles, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: The Eagles won't pick up their 2020 contract option for Malcolm Jenkins, but they will hold on to the lesser known of their two starting safeties. McLeod was a 16-game starter in 2019, rebounding from a 2018 ACL tear to notch 76 tackles, six pass defenses, two interceptions and two forced fumbles while playing 99.2 percent of defensive snaps. PFF graded him at No. 52 out of 86 qualified safeties, with a 66.2 grade marking his first time below 70.0 since 2014.

Plays 17 games in 2019
McLeod played all 16 regular-season games, registering 76 tackles (46 solo), a sack, two interceptions and six pass breakups in 2019. He also logged two tackles (one solo) in the Eagles' wild card loss to Seattle.
Analysis: McLeod bounced back to his former self after missing most of 2018 with a torn ACL and MCL. He came just seven tackles shy of his career high and recorded just his second career sack. The 29-year-old heads into the offseason scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent, so he could very well be with another team in 2020.

Makes two big plays in loss
McLeod made four tackles (three solo) while also recording a sack and an interception in Sunday's 17-9 loss to Seattle.
Analysis: It was McLeod's first sack of the season and just the second of his eight-year career. The 29-year-old has two interceptions on the year now to go with 56 tackles (33 solo).
